Inside this book you will find some of my personal favorite Christmas recipes in an easy to read, fully detailed collection that also explains how to modify ALL recipes to fit your food preferences and/or restrictions. There are tips, shortcuts and simple techniques in each recipe that save time, money and energy; a measurement conversion chart and hints for all things related to food and household.
Some people prefer to use the term Happy Holidays
or other greetings; but it boils down to a festive gathering of friends and family with food, love and sometimes gifts; that is meant to celebrate and be thankful for life, all it has and will offer...in my opinion anyway!

INTRODUCTION
Many years ago, when I was raising kids and couldn't afford to buy all my family and friends each a gift, pay the bills AND keep the kids fed and clothed at the same time; without resorting to lying to credit card companies about people maybe slightly being deader than they really were (LOL?)...I came up with a brilliant idea to bake some of my personal favorite Christmas treats and hand them out as gifts instead!
This saved me a fortune and had my friends leaving voice mails before I even got back from dropping off the tins that I had 'forgotten' a few of this and 'all' of that, and how soon could I make another tin! Today when I want to give someone a gift, I make something I know they will like, wrap it up and 'drop it like its hot' at their front door with a big hug and a smile as the appetizer!
As I explain in my FREE 'Money2eat4life' budgeting guide and my other food eBook-'Awesome Adjustable Meals'; sitting down to organize/plan what you want to make, creating a list, bulk shopping, batch cooking and immediate packaging and storage are the keys to saving the ultimate amount of time, money, energy, getting the biggest 'bang for your buck', and eating healthy, homemade, delicious meals 3 times or more a day too!
This started strictly as a recipe book, mostly for a few of those same family and friends who kept bugging me for more every Christmas season (and every freaking day in between it seemed too), so they could make their own instead; but has turned into a guide on HOW TO make YOUR own Favorite Christmas Treats gift tins, WITH all recipes and loads of extra freebie time/money/energy saver pointers included inside each recipe too!
I use these on a regular basis no matter what time of year it is; but I modify them to be gluten-free, lactose-free, soy-free/reduced and higher in protein for my specific dietary needs and preferences. You can do your own adjusting of ingredients to make the meals taste the way you want!
Cooking is a combination of an expression of creativity, math, science and common sense that delights the eyes, nose and mouth…so get busy and impress yourself already!
I wrote this as if you are watching me cook and I am speaking directly to you...so;
clean your ears; or in this context, your eyes (or glasses)!
grab a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage
get a pen and paper or use your device-to make notes/plan your own menu/lists as we go
eat something first, because your eyes are ALWAYS bigger than your stomach when you're hungry; and I don't want you to start drooling all over your device and wreck it!
turn on your imagination
...testing testing: visualize a fresh, steaming hot fruitcake being taken out of the oven...can you SEE it in the silver non-stick springform 10" round pan, the blue snow-flaked oven mitts gripping the sides, a perfectly browned cake with pieces of green and red maraschino cherries and pecans all over it, thickly glazed with rum-soaked caramelized sugar? can you SMELL the fresh baked cake and its distinct aroma of dates, rum, nuts, fruit, and the hint of molasses and spices? are you getting hungry? do you want some now?
too bad!...because I don't actually LIKE fruitcake; so i'm not talking about it anymore!
...but i'm glad to know your imagination and visualization techniques are GOOD to GO!
