Marsell Morris

Marsell was born in Detroit Michigan in the year of... well, a good while ago. After graduating from Cass Technical High School, Marsell went to work for the Chrysler Corporation as a conveyor loader. Shortly after beginning his employment with Chrysler, he married, and fathered three children. Thirty-one years later, and after having gained the position of production supervisor, he retired at fifty. After retiring, he began playing golf everyday and all day. Having lowered his handicap to near scratch, and winning a tournament at even par, and behind a debilitating injury, he was unable to continue playing. He had a lot of free time on his hands, whereupon, he took up writing as a hobby and time killer and discovered he had talent for spinning a yarn. After pounding out eleven urban fictions, covering everything from drug use, prostitution, gang crime, murder, and romance/erotica, and having always been a science fiction fan from his teenage years, he thought he’d try his hand at writing a Sci-Fi tail, which culminated in his first work “Alien Plot - First Contact” now retitled "Alien Offensive - Nanobot Storm" and its four sequels, and which, at one time before he ran into problems with its publisher, was considered good fodder for production as a movie, not because he is such a great writer, but because of its unique, previously unexplored, plot.He still lives in Detroit, and being a compulsive writer, he spends most of his time wearing out his fourth keyboard replacement, while pursuing what he loves doing — writing more tails with unique story lines.

    Chapter 1

Un-hun, there is a Hatchet Man. My cousin said so, said Willie, as he sat on the bottom step of his dilapidated porch and bounced his well used basketball on the crumbling sidewalk of his front yard. He paused for a moment to watch a rather large black ant come toward him out of the crabgrass infested yard. He pulled out his magnifying glass from a back pocket of his jeans with a hole in one knee, and looking up at the evening sun, called his friend and constant companion, Tommy, Hey, Tommy, here's another one of them amazon ants. Watch this.

Tommy, who'd been throwing a stick into the branches of a chestnut tree outside the small, picket fenced, yard, while hoping to knock down one of the few chestnuts still hanging on in the late fall, came running. He got down on one knee, and peered at the large mandibles of the ant. Whooo, I bet them pincers would hurt if it bit you, he said, as he picked up a thin twig and redirected the insect. Come on Willie, let me do this one. You did the last three.

Okay, but I do anymore that come out. Here. Willie handed Tommy the small, dirty, one-inch in diameter, plastic, magnifier, that he'd got out of a Crackerjack, box. You know how to do it?

Yeah, I seen you do it enough. Tommy held the glass over the ant and tried to focus the dying sunlight, but couldn't seem to get it right as he twisted it this way and that as the ant turned and began moving back towards the sparse grass.

Willie, bent over and redirected the insect again. Naw, dummy, you gonna let it get away. Here, let me show you how to do it. He took the toy and held it at an angle, and with practiced fingers, brought the focal point of sun light to a white pinpoint, causing the ant to curl up, and smoking, quickly die.

Why you do that Willie? You said you was gonna let me do that one. Tommy searched for another emerging ant and found none.

You need some practice. Take the glass over there and learn how to burn some holes in some leaves, and I'll let you try again if you gets good enough. Willie returned to his seat on the bottom two steps of his porch and began bouncing his under inflated basketball that was smooth from many hours of use on the blacktop playground.

Instead of burning leaves, Tommy, stood and watched the ball rhythmically thumping off the cracking concrete, and made a move to snatch it between bounces, and missing, said, I ain't no dummy. You the dummy. You’ll believe anything your cousin says, won’t you?

Willie knew his friend, and could tell by the way Tommy watched the ball bouncing, he was waiting to try and take the ball. He'd tried it many times in the
