This book is a groundbreaking investigation of the collective efforts of global elites to “change the world.” According to Giridharadas, these efforts are really stemmed from the desire to preserve the status quo and further to obscure their role in causing the problems in the first place. Giridharadas explores the fight for equality by the rich and powerful in every way they can except when their position in the social order is threatened. We will see how these elites rebrand themselves and appear that they are the saviors of the poor.
