The modern world has relegated spirituality, knowingly or unknowingly, and is experiencing repercussions of this fault. The recent revolution in information and other kinds of technology has brought the world at our doorsteps, but not without ill effects. Mankind was never as vulnerable, as susceptible, to vices as is now. There is no remedy other than to re-enthuse and bring back new generations to spirituality. The essays contained in this book are meant for that.

      T here can be no two opinions about the fact that man prefers to live in society than in seclusion. Also his ultimate aim is to have a stable, peaceful, orderly life full of amenities and pleasures. There is nothing wrong in it. The trouble begins when man starts running after pleasures that are detrimental to the very existence of society. We call such tendencies as vices. These vices make man so restless that he loses peace of mind. His life becomes unstable and miserable. The vices lead him astray and make him unfit to live in society. Thus the man is led where he himself does not want to reach. It’s only the spiritual training or education which can put human beings on right track and help achieve, without wavering, the much desired peace and quietude. The ‘Pilgrim’s Progress’ involves overcoming of a number of hurdles that, prima facie, seem insurmountable. But with the introduction of discipline in life, task becomes easier.

      All the vices in society arise out of ignoring the spiritual values. The recent revolution in information and other kinds of technology has brought the world at our doorsteps, but not without its ill effects. Mankind was never so vulnerable, so susceptible to vices as now is. Therefore, it is urgent need of the time to re-emphasize the place of spiritual values in our lives for these can only lead us to correct objectives of human life.

      Now what is spiritually living? If put in simple words it is-

      a) to live in truth,

      b) to live in freedom,

      c) to live with full of love,

      d) to live without fear,

      e) to live at peace with oneself and all mankind, and

      f) to choose joy rather than sorrow.

      From above points, it is clear that spirituality is not antagonistic to science. In fact, the world, and the mankind in particular, need both science and spirituality for its progress in right direction. The modern world has relegated spirituality, knowingly or unknowingly, and is experiencing repercussions of this fault. There is no remedy other than to re-enthuse and bring back new generations to spirituality. The essays contained in this book are meant for that.
