Marriage: Naked but Not Ashamed
()
About this ebook
Getting married, staying married and being happily married are three disconnected realities for many couples all over the world. A cocktail of wrong attitudes, inappropriate postures and unwholesome speech has progressively turned many marriages from something to be enjoyed into something to be endured with spiritual, emotional and even physical scars to show for it.
Recognizing God as the author of marriage and the Bible as the most authentic guide on marriage, this book, together with the others in the series, are devoted to amplifying simple but profound biblical principles that are divinely designed by God to guarantee success and joy in marriage.
This particular book, Naked but not Ashamed, is based principally on the teachings on marriage as contained in Genesis, the First Book of the Holy Bible. It focuses on how to dethrone secrecy, deceitfulness, hypocrisy, discord, and mockery, whilst enthroning transparency, sincerity, trust, togetherness and mutual understanding (that is, enthroning naked but not ashamed) in a marital relationship.

Marriage: Harnessing Your Resources
Every enterprise in life has a set of Key Success-Inducing Resources (KSIRs) that need to be judiciously harnessed and expertly applied in order to ensure success of the enterprise. For example, a typical business enterprise has human resources, technology resources and financial resources as KSIRs that must be continuously harnessed and wisely applied as a prerequisite for profitability and success. In the same manner, the marriage enterprise has its own set of key success-inducing resources. These include effective communication skills, conflict resolution techniques, positive leadership competencies and the spiritual power of two in unity. These marital KSIRs need to be continuously harnessed and nurtured, if the union is to blossom and flourish. The focus of this book is to give the reader crystal clear understanding of marriage related KSIRs; establish the link between these KSIRs and effective relationship building; as well as provide a practical and biblical guide on how to positively cultivate and harness these Key Success-Inducing Resources with a view to guarantee success, joy and harmony in the marriage.
Marriage: From Sweet to Sweeter
God designed marriage to be like sweet wine that gets sweeter as it matures. Jesus Christ manifested this spiritual truth in His first miracle at the wedding at Cana of Galilee when He not only turned water into wine, but He provided sweeter wine at the latter stage of the marriage ceremony. This book deals with the concept of a marriage progressing from "sweet to sweeter" from two angles. First it dwells on some real life issues of marriage, which when handled properly, has the ability to facilitate progressively increasing marital sweetness—love & submission, money matters, the marital bed, etc. The book then concludes with seven faith inspiring revelations from the true life episode of the wedding at Cana as recorded in second chapter of the gospel according to John.
This book series is for you . . .
If marriage is a futuristic project but you want to understand how it works before you jump in
If you are planning marriage and you want to get it right from day one
If you are already married and you want your marriage to be transformed from bitter endurance to sweet enjoyment; or from sweet to sweeter
If you are a marriage counselor
If you are a pastor or a minister in the service of God
Dedication
Giving exclusive glory to Almighty God, I dedicate this book to all persons who are tired of marital frustrations and are resolved to remove all garments of secrecy, hypocrisy and dishonesty to become totally naked but not ashamed before their spouse.
Acknowledgements
Let me start by reverentially acknowledging and thanking Almighty God, the author of life and source of revelation, for granting me the unique opportunity and grace to write this book series.
Next, I want to acknowledge the immense contributions of Aramide—my wife, helpmeet, lover and friend. She sat beside me to jointly conduct the many marriage counseling sessions that birth this book series. Her comprehensive and detailed review of the original draft manuscript brought a breath of freshness into the work, and is deeply appreciated. In addition, her practical devotion to the finest points of naked but not ashamed
within our marriage relationship has brought me great marital joys, as well as gave me the moral justification to write on this topic.
I also wish to express my gratitude and indebtedness to Olayinka Balogun, Adeshewa Adeniji, Derin Adeboga and my first daughter, Toluwalase Owoso for the time they all took to painstakingly review this work. Of course, I take singular responsibility for any grammatical errors that escaped their eagle eyes.
Finally, I want to thank you, the reader, for devoting time to assimilate the contents of this book and in so doing, allowed God, the Author of marriage, to manifest the blessings and power of His mercy upon your marriage.

In the Beginning
10008.jpg In the beginning, at a very solemn ceremony in the Garden of Eden, God put Adam to sleep, took a rib from his side and formed Eve from the extracted rib. He then woke Adam up and handed over Eve to him. On sighting Eve, a mixture of joy and excitement, hitherto alien to the soul of Adam, was suddenly stirred up and he exclaimed with newly found passion and ecstasy—"this is now bone of my bones and the flesh of my flesh . . .!" Adam suddenly realized that all the animals he has been naming are peripheral. This is the real deal. This one is his own—to have, to hold and to cherish, for life!
This, in a nutshell, is the highlight of the events that heralded the first marriage union—a marriage union in its
