The M.A.I.A. Journey

About this ebook
The desire for knowledge is not a light burden; it is not easy to want to know and hold on to your goal while going through times when the constant occultation of the answers generates a dose of frustration that goes beyond human endurance. Moreover, it is not easy to share your findings with the world without being considered at least a lunatic, particularly when those findings tend to break well rooted patterns and tear away the ego.
The Maia Journey even though so amazing in its uniqueness for each individual has a pattern which I have tried to outline in this book. To those on a personal quest it will be a useful tool, to others just another reading. To me, it is Manifesting Awareness Inside the All.

Introduction
PART I
THE KYBALION AND THE UNIVERSAL PRINCIPLES
1 The Principle of Mentalism:
The ALL is spirit, the universe is mental.
2 The Principle of Correspondence:
As above so below, as below so above.
3 The Principle of Vibration:
Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.
4 The principle of polarity:
Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.
5 The principle of Rhythm:
Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.
6 The principle of cause and effect:
Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according to Law; Chance is but a name for Law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the Law.
7 The principle of gender:
Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles; Gender manifests on all Planes.

Introduction
The Possession of Knowledge, unless accompanied by the manifestation and expression in Action, is like the accumulation of precious metals - a vain and foolish thing. Knowledge, like Wealth, is intended for use. Usefulness is the Universal Law, and one who violates it bears the consequences of entering in conflict with the natural forces.
The Kybalion
For those on the quest for truth
, a quest that cannot be satisfied either by science or religion, for those who have passed the initiation of the Nadir
, when involution takes you to the densest form of matter, the Path of Return begins. A journey that is as inevitable as it is difficult, full of revelations and personal sacrifices even for those who have decided to pursue it willingly.
The spiritual realm emanates an aura of mystery that is causing curiosity in some, fear - often justified - in others. But one cannot start the exploration of these territories with fear in his heart. With sincere respect and curiosity, yes. Whether we admit it or not, we have all been looking for some proof sustaining the ineffable feeling that there is something else there
, that the existence does not end with death, that we are not only chaos and statistics
. I have not searched for the power given by acquiring magical abilities, but for answers about who I am, who the others are and why we are all here. For this reason I have and still am devouring any information about magic, alchemy, psychology, philosophy, occultism and religion that might hold a clue. The list is exhaustive, because a philosophical idea easily takes you to religion, from where you find yourself walking through the mists of the occult only to be shifted towards one or another field of exact science.
The first thing I have learned during my quest is that absolutely all things, ideas and people in this world, however different they may seem or would like to appear, share a common point: the point of return. It is not surprising that this point of return is the same as the point of departure. The fact that we all bathe in a warm existential soup is theoretically well known … that’s not important. What is important is to get one to perceive it, to feel it, to remove any doubt that things are otherwise; to directly and personally experience this appurtenance to something truly great and much more impressive than we could ever imagine. It is then and only then when the once needed individual perspective will change, that the level of consciousness and awareness will expand.
When one begins to gain clarity in regards to the reality of the world around, one realizes that this newly acquired perspective cannot be included in a book or a hundred books, because knowledge is experienced via the living process and it is in constant transformation and upgrading. Things you think you understand today are seen in a different light tomorrow and that aggravates the confusion. But the rule is that this is also true
as much as the mind can perceive the truth when being in a certain stage of personal evolution. Each level reveals a truth that is valid for a specific time frame and which fulfils the role of a step on a set of stairs. This gradual implementation of knowledge has also another purpose, namely to protect us from experiencing the deer blinded by the headlights of a car racing at night
state. Besides, no revelation can happen without the brain being ready to understand it, to grasp its meaning. The ability of our brain to cope with the information depends on the innate qualities, the effort and the sweat we leave on the brain training treadmill. In other words, some analytical and mathematical brain wishing to become a physicist would benefit from these qualities he was born with, but without proper training and accumulation of knowledge, he would never become one. Mind thrives and expands as an effect of brain gymnastics.
The same need of confirmation and proof took me to Reiki, a hands-on healing system relatively new, but which has already caused enough stir, dissension and controversy. I had many questions regarding Reiki, and each present moment
was taking me closer to understanding. But I still felt that I was missing the bigger picture that would help me fit the puzzle pieces. I have received attunements in various Reiki systems and eventually became a master
- a title of which I did not consider myself worthy, because my knowledge did not feel as being one of a master. But, as Shakespeare says, few people know how much they should know in order to know how little do they know.
My findings about Reiki, as well as the practical aspect of this book – meditations, techniques and so on – will constitute the subject of the second book of The M.A.I.A. Journey.
The cycle of events and my analytical nature made it such that - after a period of alternated unanswered questions and deceptive answers – I have returned to my great passion
, the Hermetic teachings. From the dusty shelves of the mind the once so familiar faces of Hermes Trismegistus, Franz Bardon, Eliphas Levi, Jean Dubuis have surfaced again. With their help and the influence and wisdom of new teachers I resumed the search, hoping that from the study of Universal Laws and the new interpretations of the old texts I would achieve the understanding of the mechanisms that literally govern our lives.
Concluding that The All encompasses everything, and that everything exists within The All, I had the obvious revelation of Reiki as part of The All, and The All as being inherent to Reiki. For some it may seem a simple resolution, for others very sophisticated. But understanding and particularly integrating the understanding within one’s self is not an easy task and it is hard to be self-objective and avoid deceptions or half-truths. How can you be sure that your logical inferences and understandings achieved during the gradual evolution of the mind are correct? How do you know if your mind is working in line with The Self or if is only feeding fake theories to preserve its domination? How can you be sure that the path you have ventured on is nothing but a dead end? How not to get lost on the same path by believing that you are in the possession of truth, when in fact you are only tributary to the half-truth? Again, the right attitude and safety regulations
were there, out in the open: The half-wise, recognizing the comparative unreality of the Universe, imagine that they may defy its Laws — such are vain and presumptuous fools, and they are broken against the rocks and torn asunder by the elements by reason of their folly. The truly wise, knowing the nature of the Universe, use Law against laws; the higher against the lower; and by the Art of Alchemy transmute that which is undesirable into that which is worthy, and thus triumph. Mastery consists not in abnormal dreams, visions and fantastic imaginings or living, but in using the higher forces against the lower — escaping the pains of the lower planes by vibrating on the higher. Transmutation, not presumptuous denial, is the weapon of the Master.
¹
We live in a world where the halos collapse, where dreams are shattered and where the darkness befouls the last sacred landmarks of humanity. The future, dreaded by some, ardently expected by others, is exacerbating the pressure on the shoulders of humanity, seemingly impassive, but in sharp decline. Regardless of which theory will prove true for this troubled period in the existence of humanity, the awakening and awareness of the appurtenance to The All - sooner or later - will be achieved. Even if so many rely on so few…
I cannot claim to have discovered the truth, it would be a ridiculous statement, but I think I found in the metaphors and parables of the wise and in what’s left from the ancient wisdom purged by the flames of ignorance, my path towards Light. With all my being, I hope that everyone has the courage to find its own.
The book is structured in two parts and presents in the first part The Seven Laws or Principles of Hermetics, also known as Universal Laws and in the second part the structure and function of the soul in our spiritual evolution. I would like to believe that some of you will experience the feverishness, the alienation from this reality and the amazement I have experienced during my Maia Journey, and that you will understand that what I present as my beliefs should only be treated as mere opinions.
The purpose of this work is to create a ripple effect, to challenge rusty patterns and raise new questions, thus facilitating the discovery of your true Self. It does not give you anything, nor takes anything from you.
Truth is not valid unless
