Microsoft Won't Work with Companies Unless They Give Their Own Employees 12 Weeks' Paid Parental Leave
In a country where many states and businesses have yet to give their workers any type of paid family leave, tech giant Microsoft is going the extra mile. The company, which already provides its employees with paid sick leave and paid time off for new parents, announced today that it would start requiring its U.S. suppliers to offer paid family leave to their own workers as well, CNBC reports.
Microsoft shared the big news on their blog in a post penned by Dev Stahlkopf, Corporate Vice President and General Counsel. As part of the new policy, the company's U.S. suppliers will have to give workers access to at least 12 weeks of paid parental leave, at up to $1,000 per week. The paid parental leave would
