CHAPTER 1
CREATIVE THOUGHT
A saying goes that one cannot create what one cannot think out. Everything you see today is a product of thought. Nothing develops on its own; it is all created as a result of one’s ability and discipline to think. The things we see, feel and perceive are all created by thought. After the creation of man, he is endowed with the spiritual ability to make things happen; automatically, man is made to be God’s representative on earth in creative activities. This creative ability can only be enhanced by good thinking habit. As a matter of fact, God still thinks and he will not stop thinking because it is his business. Creativity is the business of God. Thinking opens the universe and unveils the deep things in the world. In the book of Genesis, we see how the principal worked for God during the time he created the earth (Chapter 1:2). It says, ... the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the faces of the waters.
Verse 3: now said He, ‘let there be light’ and there was light.
Then, he continued. But the question here is: how long did the spirit move upon the faces of the waters? Perhaps, it was days, months or years. The several years he spent there was not because he enjoys darkness, he is God of light and has no business with darkness. In Matthew5:14, Jesus said, ye are the light of the world, and a city set on the hill cannot be hidden.
In 1John1:5, the Bible says, God is light and in him is no darkness at all.
Actually, there is no fun in darkness. God was not there because darkness was enjoyable. Rather, he was busy doing his business - thinking on what nature and pattern he would make the earth and when he was done with thinking, he struck it: ... let there be ...
and all that he had thought within came into existence. This is why we say that no one can create what one has not thought out. There had never been creative activities without thinking. God is not a magician. He works with principles, and creativity without those principles will lead to a fake or counterfeit. And this is why in the world today, there are so many fakes and counterfeits due to imitation of God’s creative works and not abiding by the principles. Obviously, today, we know that there is no original without a counterfeit. Satan has been the mastermind of counterfeits in order to destroy the works of God’s perfect creation. The ability to create things possible to change our lives, community, society and the world is given to every individual by God but if we do not go by the principles, we can hardly achieve the purpose. For one to be great in life, one needs to think greatly as the level of one’s reasoning is the level of one’s productivity. Without good thinking habit, one cannot maximize the God-given potentials in one. Thinking is an essential part of our life activity in order to make things happen around us. It goes with exercise, habit and, finally, character. Exercise is to do something at regular interval which develops into habit; and once habit is developed, character is set into formation; character appears in a short while if you do not abort a habit. Therefore, you need the exercise to develop your ability into character. I had a friend in my days in the University. This was a young man who had developed his thinking ability that while chatted, his mind was on several places and things. Sometimes, one would have to call his attention back and he was doing great with that. You can design a good future life with the character in you. Whatever you would want to design in your life about your future, destiny, wealth and possessions; without good thinking you cannot achieve it. You will be like a withered branch of tree hanging on the same tree and hoping it is still a live branch on the tree. But it, actually, is not; it, rather, is something waiting for breeze to blow it off the tree. Remember that great thinkers are great
