About this ebook

As I read Dont Play with Me, I Am Life, in this practical call to personal holiness, John deals boldly with the strongest attacks on the mind, body, and spirit of the young men of today. We cannot waste time playing hide-and-seek with lust and its consequences. John went back to his childhood and chronicles his subconscious mind as a sexual being. His young life as a boy has earned our trust by sharing his prospective from a biblical point of view. His wisdom on the true nature of lust will not only inform but challenge every Christian male. He shares that the main issue with sex is that it hinders us from seeing and savoring the glory of Christ and that not knowing the purpose of our sexual urges hurts us and dishonors God. So, for your joy and Christs honor, I commend this book to you. It is realistic, practical, and hope-giving because of uncompromising grace. The pure in heart will see God. If you want that insight, let Dont Play with Me, I Am Life by John Lewis help you on your journey to manhood. It is a beautiful blend of grace and truth. John raises high standards of holiness while carefully avoiding legalism. His honest, biblical, while practical and compelling forthright is refreshing.

John Lewis has written a book about sexual purity that can be read and applied by both men and women. He shows us in practical and specific ways how we can grow toward Gods standardabsolute purity in mind and body. I highly recommend it.

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Writing this book would not have been possible without the help of the Holy Spirit and the insight of the great minds in the research community of truth. I’d like to thank my wife Gabrielle, and my daughters JaaEL and Faith for their patience and thoughtfulness in my writing. Also to my editor Janice Dixon and my friend Ray Morgan for their critical eyes and thoughtful minds. My greatest appreciation goes to all who made this book possible.

    INTRODUCTION

As I observed the life of my Caribbean brothers and sisters in my New York community, and the progressive decay of the family structure, I was inspired to write this book. I observed that the men of the community no longer had knowledge of their identity, they valued nothing but themselves, and they believed their penis was only a means of sexual gratification. I have conversed with young men here in the U.S. and questioned them concerning their origin. Where are you from? Who created you? What is your purpose? What is your destiny? Where will you spend eternity? Should Christ allow you into His kingdom? Their answers were alarming. Here are some of their responses:

This life is all there is; When you’re dead, you’re done.

No one can know the truth.

I was placed here to make babies.

All of this is just an illusion.

    No one knows the future.

"Jesus made me this way, so He must allow me into His kingdom.

Religion is for fools, not for thinkers.

Other questions created uneasiness and resentment. What is a man? Why are you a man? Who made you a man? Why do you have a penis? What is it for? Why is it the way it is when it is erected? "Why can you be aroused spontaneously?

Usually there is a lull of silence before I get a response. I realized that neither men nor adolescents understand the function of their bodies. They figure it out as they go along the road of life. My objective in writing this book is to bring some insight into the understanding of the penis and the function of man as a whole person. My goal is to disclose the true function of the penis as it relates to its creator, and to explain God’s covenant with man.

I believe that disclosing the truth about our sexuality will bring some awareness of and clarity to our understanding of our origin (where we came from); of our purpose (why we are here); of our destiny (where we are going). These three basic questions shape and form the way we see and perceive the world and it is my intention to bring some insight. As you read this book, I hope that you gain knowledge about your penis and understanding of the purpose for man’s creation. May the Holy Spirit guide
