Dads Do Breakfast
This world seems to have gone crazy right before our eyes—and our family relationships are paying the price. Statistics show that in the last 25 years the time parents spend with their children has dropped 40 percent. In a 24 hour period parents work on average 8.2 hours, watch 5.5 hours of TV or other media and spend 35 minutes on mobile devices, but they spend only a shocking two hours a day with their children.¹ These facts are not only startling but also disturbing.
Everyone admits it is a very fast, frenzied, and rather impersonal world we live in today. When you consider the intense schedules we set for ourselves and our families, one can easily see why there is little or no time left for quality family time. Pressure and stress abound everywhere!
Men, it is time that we do something to slow our lives down a little and take control of the most significant part of the day: breakfast (at least on Saturday or Sunday or both if you can). Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and what could be better than sharing this with the most important people in your life? It will set the tone and spirit for the rest of your day!

By doing breakfast, and doing it right, you can make an incredible statement and create lasting memories for your family.
It is great to get everyone involved in the preparations and even in the actual cooking. It is something they will take with them forever.
Our boys are grown now, with families of their own, but they still talk about our Sunday morning omelets or pizza fritta, and our Magnolia Sunrise drinks (nonalcoholic for them at the time). These may be great memories for them, but to Renee and me, they are priceless.
Our grandchildren love Papa’s scrambled eggs, and they are crazy about my Pizza Fritta Lungas together with Naenae’s Potatoes and Eggs and her special-shaped pancakes. Breakfast in our family has become a
