About this ebook

The Hanging Cross collection of poems and stories spans a lifetime of experiences and lessons learned. For those having similar experiences, there is one who knows all of your hurts and feelings; He loves you, and He uses such unique measures to touch the hearts of those who are hurting, lonely, depressed, disappointed, and feeling unloved.

Time grows short, and there are many hurting souls who are searching in all of the wrong places, using the wrong methods to find peace, contentment, joy, and love. What you are searching for can easily be found in the simple act of believing in Jesus and asking Him to forgive you of your sins and come into your heart. This is the most important decision you will ever make in your life.

There is no more exciting life than the life with Jesus, our Savior. He gives you a high above all highs, joys beyond measure, and peace in your heart that will sustain you through anything you will ever have to go through in this life. He never leaves you, and He is faithful and keeps His promises.

This collection of poems and stories tells of the many unique ways and experiences our Savior used in the authors life to bring about a change that has made her a much stronger person with a deeper knowledge of the love of our great Creator. Her prayer for you is that your heart will be touched with the knowledge that Jesus does love you and understands your every feeling. He is the one who will help you through it all.

    Piano Player and Singer

Inspiration comes from different places and has many faces. We never know who or through what circumstances we are going to touch someone else’s life. That is why we should always share our experiences, both good and bad, in the way we know how, or else the trials we have come through will have gone to waste.

The Lord says in His word that He allows us to go through troubles so that we will call on Him, He can rescue us, and we will give Him praise (Psalm 50:15 LB). The praise we give is through the life we live.

My inspiration to write again came to me one Saturday night in Remember When Theatre in Helen, Georgia. I had been in a deep depression for six years. I had taken care of my parents until their deaths while taking care of my mother-in-law. The deep hurt and sadness of taking care of an Alzheimer’s patient had taken its toll on me.

Gerald wrote a song called Little Hands, which was inspired by his deep hurting over losing his wife and baby through a divorce he did not want. He did not know that his song and the tears he cried on stage that night would inspire me to write again. He did not know the depression I was in, that had I not been a Christian, I would gladly have ended my life. The Lord used him to turn my life around, to inspire me to use one of the gifts God had given me that was being wasted.

It is with my deepest respect, thanksgiving, and love that I dedicate this, my first book, to you, Gerald.

In your words, you are just a piano player and singer. In my words, you
