About this ebook
Power-Full Weight Loss is a tool to successful, permanent weight loss. It allows readers to understand the science behind food and to approach a healthy lifestyle in a way that is right for them.
Readers are encouraged to explore reasons why they overeat and to challenge any destructive thought patterns. Alternative weight-loss methods such as visualization and saying affirmations are recommended alongside a healthy diet and exercise routine.
Grace reflects on personal experiences and her own struggles with excess weight. Readers can feel reassured by the fact that Power-Full Weight Loss has been written by someone who really understands how being overweight feels and how difficult it can be to embark on a weight loss journey.
Power-Full Weight Loss does not recommend any particular diet. Instead, it describes different approaches and allows individuals to make informed decisions and regain control of their health.

Foreword
This book has been written to offer motivation and support to those who are struggling to lose unwanted weight and to adopt a healthier lifestyle. It allows the reader to understand that I too have experienced the struggle of being obese and I can therefore offer realistic guidance as to how your weight loss can be achieved and maintained, your health restored and your confidence boosted.
The prospect of change can seem scary, but every step you take will become easier than the last!
You obviously want to change; otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this book. Change the word ‘want’ to ‘will’ and you will find that your dreams will become a reality!
Good luck

Introduction
Who am I?
This is a question most people ask at some point in their life. If you are reflective, like me, then you’ve probably asked this question several times. I describe myself as being reflective because I feel that this helps me to describe the type of person I am. I am a person who thinks about things; I analyze situations, body language and my own emotions and then I try to make sense of why things are the way they are.
When I was younger, my mum used to say that I thought too much. I must say that it’s only now, as an adult, that I can appreciate why my mum made that comment. What my mum was noticing was not that I thought too much, but rather that my thoughts were not helpful. I over-analyzed things and had unhelpful thoughts that eventually became destructive to my emotional, spiritual and mental well-being. Other people at that time may have described me as being too sensitive, over-emotional, or lacking in confidence. Perhaps these are words that you would use to describe yourself.
Despite the fact that such thoughts did welcome utter chaos into my life, I do not resent the fact that I am reflective, nor do I regret my past experiences. Instead, I feel blessed because I have allowed my thinking to become more positive and more mature. Whilst I still have a deep awareness of situations and the actions and intentions of other people, I have grown up and become more objective in the way that I handle my thoughts.
Instead of being over-sensitive and assuming that an event has happened because I am not good enough, I am not likeable, I’m too fat, I’ve made a mistake, I’m too ugly, et cetera, I can now empathize with other people and understand that the event happened because of some other factor which is not my fault! I also appreciate now that I am just as worthy as other people, I am as special as everyone else and my opinions do count. This awareness has also allowed me to recognise that other people are also vulnerable and those people who appear to be confident are often not as confident as they project. I am in no way suggesting that all people are secretly weak individuals lacking in confidence, but I am suggesting that there is a vulnerability that exists in all of us. Recognising this has allowed me to understand that I am ‘normal’ and that this vulnerability can be the cause of the way
