About this ebook

Many of us have moments when we feel truly bleak. We are living in the winter of our souls. Spring seems like it will never come. But spring does come, and it will give way to summer, which will be followed by a rich, delicious harvest.

Life is about overcoming adversities and creating opportunities. God graces us with comfort to overcome and courage to create.

Devotions from Hope is a collection of devotions, prayers, thoughts, and insights that will help you find peace, healing, and hope in this world through the rediscovery of a true and lasting connection to God.

No storm can overcome me when my soul resides in Christ. The winds cannot push me. The rains cannot dampen me. I live in his sweet calm.

Starting today, let us make ourselves stronger, brighter, wiser, healthier. Let us do the work to reach the goal. Starting today.

Devotions from Hope - Paula M.S. Paquette MTS MPA

    1

I feel insignificant, betrayed, and unloved. I feel unimportant, whispered about, and twisted up. I am living in the wilderness. Happiness escapes me. Security escapes me. Winter will not yield to spring. The world is a dangerous place. People are treacherous. The fact that I know where I am starting from and just how bleak I feel gives me hope. I am hopeful that God will show me the way to simple happiness.

How can I even begin to cause this creation to be made whole again? By helping one little bird at a time to fly again.

Greet today with love and respect. Greet today with hope and concern, and it will be a good day. Rejoice in it.

    2

We do not stay lost for long unless we stay on the same path.

You are a lovable, perfect, holy, wholly perfect creation of God. Selah.

Let go of that which no longer serves you. With every exhale, let go of that which no longer serves you. Now you are no longer serving it.

Prayers can be answered anytime. Sometimes the wait is short. Sometimes the wait is long. Sometimes the wait is so long that we forget what we even asked about. Maybe sometimes we need to wait because then we’ll finally become still enough to listen and stop trying to force a solution. Then God can step in and work.

    3

Serenity is the marvelous place where you no longer want, fear, or cling. It is the marvelous place where your spiritual self is in harmony with your physical self, creating a balance of bliss.

Seek, and ye shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened. It is promised, and so it will be.

Ego causes separation—from ourselves and from others. Ego causes nothing but separation and sadness. When we finally accept that our egos are not healthy for us, we can begin healing. Love one another as God has loved you, and you will know true peace.

Every day, souls perish. Every day, souls are saved. What kind of day are you having?

    4

We are all moving around on this earth, trying to manage from day to day and hoping that calamity will not befall us or our loved ones. Believe in the Lord, and you will be saved.

Accept all the blessings that life offers you. Be grateful for all the blessings that life gives you. Bless others with the gifts you have been given. Accept the gratitude of those you help. Be grateful to those who help
