Dr. George A. Baker III distinguished himself as a US Marine, educator, parent and grandfather, in this memoir he looks back at his life in the third dimension- after a career in the military, as a distinguished professor and as a higher education, college coach and consultant. In these three roles he has both led and followed high ranking military men,presidents, and the cabinet of LBJ. Baker’s ascension through the military ranks allowed him to witness and analyze political and societal change from a unique perspective of the Cold War, Vietnam. and provided him with a strong foundation to become a full professor at the The University of Texas at Austin and a distinguished university professor at NC State University. Baker drew upon his experiences as a Marine, battle field strategist, tactician leader, and teacher to bring competency-based mastery education to his troops, graduate students, and contract consulting around the world.
