It’s important to develop your self-confidence as a writer. The more confident you are the more successful and productive you will be.
However, writers must become increasingly self-confident from the inside-out and not from the outside-in. To increase your self-confidence from the inside-out, you must develop who you are as a writer and all aspects of inner resilience before you look outside for advice on how to be your best. Otherwise, you will have a difficult time becoming self-confident.
Many times, our wounded feelings stem from our youth. They influence how we feel about ourselves today. And for many writers, their childhood memories are speckled with negative emotions and a lot of angst. They feel that in some way they were handed the short end of the stick in life.
The good news is that you can overcome these negative feelings about yourself and start believing in yourself. This will translate into many productive years. You can also overcome all your negativity and become the writer that you were meant to be—a self-confident writer who is successful and ensures that her experiences are positive and fulfilling.

Introduction
Many writers are not very self-confident because they are a sensitive and uncertain group of individuals. Writing comes from the intimate center inside of us. Therefore, any criticism from the outside can send writers spinning into a vortex of uncertainty for a long time. This can ultimately lead to writer’s block and a lack of fulfillment in your writing career.
I have worked with writers in several of my mentoring groups over the years who lacked self-confidence in one way or the other. This is a normal occurrence for many writers. However, writers should try to deal with these issues of low self-confidence and self-worth directly because it can hinder productivity and overall fulfillment.
