      A cute kids mystery thriller in the style of Nancy Drew. Part of a series, this time two of the Seaside Sleuths find themselves trapped in the middle of a hurricane with nefarious dudes looking to use the storm to their advantage. Will the remaining team reach them in time? And what became of Doreen, the injured sea turtle?Found this one at a library sale and it looked interesting to me. It was, and I hope someone else finds it interesting when they select it from my Little Free Library.

    Ferry Captain

    Prologue

    Starting as a small sandbar and then slowly growing

    over thousands of years, Bald Head Island came to exist off the coast of what is now known as North Carolina. The island was discovered by the Spanish explorer, Giovanni Verrazano, in 1524.

    Bald Head would go through many changes over the years, until it was once again discovered; this time by a group of children who happened on this island for various reasons, as different as the children themselves.

    Once the island was discovered, the children and their families continued to visit for summer vacations, spent among the dunes and sandy beaches that stretched for miles along the shore. Equally appealing was the fact there were no cars, something that is very rare to find in this world today.

    One child, however, came to live year round on this island. Her name was Ali, a girl who loved adventure. Her favorite companion was her black standard poodle, Victor, and the two spent many hours exploring the mysteries of the island.

    Over the years, as Ali grew to know the summer children they formed a group of adventurers called the Seaside Sleuths. Every member has special talents, and together they form a dynamic group who can solve any mystery they encounter.
