About this ebook

Christianity and the learning of Jesus is by far the most simplistic of all religions for bringing one to a saving faith. However, man has once again managed to complicate the simplicity of the gospel.
Many who are not of the Christian faith and desire to learn are at times intimidated by the many different denominations and doctrines which appear to be within the Christian church.
Pastor Townsend, although somewhat of a theologian himself, possesses the unique ability of taking mentally demanding theological concepts and transforming them into easy to understand everyday language.
After reading this book you will be inspired to place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior without the entanglement of religious and theological mental gymnastics.
In this book you will learn:
? Revelation Knowledge The Gift that Must Be Given
? The Holy Trinity When You See One You See Them All
? Works vs.- Righteousness The Pathway for Entering His Rest"
? Getting Yoked-Up with Jesus The Importance of Finding Rest In Relationship with Christ
? How To Be Saved Today

    Dedication

I would like to dedicate this book to my parents Pastor Frank L. Townsend, Jr., and Mother Lillie Mae Townsend.

My dad and mom made it mandatory that my seven brothers and sisters and I went to church every Sunday morning whether we desired to do so or not. My father preached at least two messages every Sunday at that little country church. Our only responsibility was to sit there and not play nor make too much noise during his sermons; or we could expect a whipping later that Sunday evening. We got many whippings!

I absolutely hated the fact that all my friends were able to sleep in on Sunday mornings and play basketball all day; whenever they did get up and out. Needless to say; my siblings and I were relegated to long drawn out Sundays in that small country church with maybe 10-20 members and almost no fun to be had whatsoever.

I couldn’t wait until I was old enough to get a job that would give me a reason to absent myself from my long Sunday imprisonments at the little country church. The legal age of release was normally around fifteen years old; I had watched my older brothers do it and could hardly wait for my turn to escape as well.

As soon, as I was old enough and had enough nerves I enlisted into the Army which would certainly get me completely out of any possibility of becoming what my parents were; a boring Christian.

However, even after several years in the military and several duty assignments both overseas and nationally, I found it absolutely impossible to be a good sinner. You see my parents had totally messed up any chances I might have had of enjoying a life of good old fashioned sin; because of that little country church and its hellfire preacher (my Dad).

Somehow that word had gotten down into my spirit and wouldn’t let me go. I can remember times when I was the ring leader of sinful activities, but was the only one with a conviction about what we were doing.

Dad and Mom I dedicate this book to you; for had it not been for your persistence with the gospel of Jesus Christ I have no idea what may have become of your number six. Thank you, I love you and many are coming to Christ now because of what you put into me.

There are so many people that I could thank for assisting me with this Great Commission work. I’d like to thank Tameka Williams our church secretary and every member of my transcriptionist team; Denise Cline, Luz Mallebranche and Jessica Batts. Without you guys’ help I would still be putting this work together.

A special thank you to my very good friend, Pastor Mark Tellis for your patience and insight while reading through the entire manuscript.

Last but certainly not least I would like to thank my best friend, ministry partner, and wife for life Debbie. Thank you for being my sounding board and giving me balance; I love you dearly.

    Preface

My reason for writing this book and why I highly recommend your reading of it is twofold and the same. We all truly know Jesus but in small part. Hence our Lord’s encouragement is Learn of Me!

To my amazement I have discovered since my salvation experience in June of 1993 that most Christians, to include many pastors in pulpits across this great nation, know Jesus only in small part.

Following an experience with two of God’s Generals late on one Monday evening in February of 2010; my focus has crystallized into a constant pursuit of learning Christ.

My wife Debbie and I were enrolled in Apostle Holcomb’s impartation and revelation course appropriately named The Sonship School of The First Born. On this particular evening we were all astonished to learn that our Apostle would not be lecturing, but we would be receiving our instruction by a visiting Bishop from Detroit. As this holy man of God began to go forth he was prompted by the Spirit mid-sentence and prophetically declared, The Lord has spoken to me that tonight someone will receive their healing! With that said he continued his lecture, only to be prompted again to lay hands and pray for a certain woman in attendance.

Okay done deal the healing is completed, I thought to myself; Now let’s get on with the word. At the conclusion of the visiting Bishop’s lecture our Apostle went forth in the Spirit for a short time. While leaving the auditorium, as was his norm, he started down the center aisle. To my astonishment it looked as though I was in his crosshair sight pattern but that was impossible. I perished the thought that he was headed toward me; there were approximately 200 or so people in the auditorium and hundreds more streaming on computers from around the world.

    However, Apostle
