Marlene is the grand-daughter of Rose Campbell, Lady-In-Waiting and Royal Court Dancer for the late Hawaiian Monarch, Queen Lydia Lili’uokalani. Marlene has devoted her royal education to the arts, serving as an accomplished performer and master educator in the Hawaiian tradition. A lead soloist with the Royal Hawaiian Band, she was gifted in portraying heartfelt, authentic interpretations of Hawaiian life and culture. Marlene continues to apply the meticulous elements of hula, song, language, and handicrafts into panoramic expression.

Patrick, grandson of Rose Campbell, devoted his royal legacy to Alaka’i, or Leadership, modeling the Hawaiian virtues of respect, honesty, and humility as a Major in the United States Air Force. Patrick has spent his life honoring his culture through daily word and deeds, sharing the spirit of Aloha with family, colleagues, and friends. My father, Patrick, embodies the essence of Ho’opono Pono Ke Ala, providing the tone and character of this book.

Mahalo Nui Loa, Marlene and Patrick, for sharing these gifts with my family.
