About the Author
Foreword
This book is dedicated to every woman who has ever been hurt, misunderstood, or abandoned for one reason or another. With life changes comes new understandings, with every pain bearing heartbreak eventually comes peace, and with every fall comes the ability to pick oneself up again. First, I would like to thank God for impregnating me with this project and equipping me with the proper tools to bring forth the word and wisdom of God.
Next, I would like to thank especially my two children for giving me the strength to go on when life had turned its dreadful back on me. You guys gave me the courage to constantly seek God for clearer wisdom and understanding. The both of you truly had a divine purpose in my life. Your births were not a mistake indeed. You both are the fuel that keeps my engine ignited through hard times.
Furthermore, I would also like to give a special thank you to my mother for remaining a constant reinforcement in my life. You were my babysitter, my guide, and oftentimes my backbone to success. To my sisters and brothers, thanks for aiding me through difficult situations in order for me to succeed by providing money, feedback, and honest criticisms when I was in doubt.
Last but not least, I would like to thank every man, friend, job opportunity, and associate who has brought hurt, shame, and abandonment into my life, because without those adversities, I would have never known my true ability to succeed in life.
Chapter 1
Introduction
Finding Inner Peace
Be strong and bold. Walk with courage and not with fear.
God is with thee at all times.
Life carries you through tremendous obstacles. Sometimes you may experience depression or may have even contemplated suicide, but give your thoughts to the Lord. Who is better to fight your addiction than King Jesus? Therefore, I ask, who understands you best? Incest, drug addiction, domestic violence, sexual assault, and even abandonment may have been issues that many of us have struggled with directly or indirectly at some point in our life. But God
was there to cradle you in his arms during the midst of your storm. God was your lawyer and doctor. He was the deciding factor and the arbitrator in your pursuit to happiness. But God!
Isn’t He an awesome God? He loves you. He can see through the layers of Sisters Healing Against Mental Emotions (S.H.A.M.E.). He is an understanding God. What other man can nurture and love you better? As women we need to remember that God has an ordained plan for our life.
Can’t you hear God calling your name? He’s a motivator, a cheerleader that subdues stress just to keep you functioning. He is a debt payer; a bill collector; and an inspiration. The man is awesome. How could you not love a man like this? There is no other man in the world that can comfort you better. When we refuse to call on the only man who can comfort us in this lifetime, we wake up only to find ourselves alone, and confused. In life we make mistakes. And therefore we must pay for our mistakes dearly.
Who is this man that we call Jesus? Is he not the only way maker, and provider? He is our best friend in a time of need, and a companion in the late-night hours. So oftentimes we have a tendency to refuse his help in our darkest time of need. We rather call on our mortal friends, than to call on the mighty name of Jesus. We must remember that God is good all the time, not just some of the time. When we awake in the morning, his mighty name should be the first that is uttered from our lips.
The Bible oftentimes reminds us that we should remain in the presence of God at all times. God has said, I will never, never fail you nor forsake you.
(Hebrews 13:5 NIV) Therefore, why do we doubt God so much? We doubt when we know that God is the one and only living God. He will always provide exceedingly and abundantly, but yet the human doubt is still there. When we leave the presence of God, all types of problems emerge. We often find ourselves suffering brutishly, battling with imperfect tribulations, constantly in a state of bewilderment, and oftentimes infected with inconsolable thoughts. I have found that when life painstakingly pitches you hardballs, we must seize those hardballs and turn them into homeruns.
I can distinctively remember when I was fifteen years of age; I thought that I was so grown up. My siblings and I had lost our biological father several years earlier due to a car accident that was caused by a drunken driver. From
