Spiritual Ignorance Can Be Devastating

The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. (Exodus 15:9 AMP)

But this is a people plundered and looted, all of them trapped in pits or hidden away in prisons. They have become plunder, with no one to rescue them; they have been made loot, with no one to say, Send them back. (Isaiah 42:22 NIV)

My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge…. My people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried with thirst. Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.

(Hosea 4:6 and Isaiah 5:13-14 NIV)

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm–neither hot nor cold–I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Killing Me Softly

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

(John 10:10)

To achieve the abundant life, you have to be an overcomer. An overcomer denotes one who is victorious, victorious over the World, the Flesh and the Devil. My friend, there is work to be done and there is a war to be fought before one can enjoy this victory.

Most of us have not gone past the foundational doctrines of the Church since we were introduced to the Word of God, or when we first accepted Jesus, as our Messiah. We cannot remain spiritual babes forever. We need to feed, and grow on solid spiritual meat of the Word. There is war to be fought, and captives to be set free. There comes a time when we have to grow up and become spiritual warriors, to press on and transcend past our former levels of spiritual maturities.

In 1 Corinthians 13:10-11 we read, When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. This point is underscored in Hebrews as follows:

THEREFORE LET us go on and get past the elementary stage in the teachings and doctrine of Christ (the Messiah), advancing steadily toward the completeness and perfection that belong to spiritual maturity. (Hebrews 6:1 AMP)

The Message version of the Bible reads:

So come on, let’s leave the preschool finger-painting exercises on Christ and get on with the grand work of art. Grow up in Christ.

Paul in Philippians said:

I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward. So let those [of us] who are spiritually mature and full-grown have this mind and hold these convictions; and if in any respect you have a different attitude of mind, God will make that clear to you also.

(Philippians 3:13-15 AMP)

There is a fight out there and it is not against flesh and blood. In fact, anybody who refuses to accept the fact that there is an on-going spiritual warfare, which directly impacts on his or her daily life, is being deluded and makes the Bible a liar. But remember this, the passive will be spewed out, and the cowardly and the unbelieving will die twice and end up in the fiery lake of burning sulfur, according to Jesus in Revelation 3:16 & 21:8.

The devil and his demons are working feverishly twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to fight against you, because he knows his time is short, and therefore he wants to destroy as many lives as he can, especially, Christian lives. The enemy has already moved into position and is ready to attack. As you read this manual, a demon is watching to see what you would do. Bear in mind, at this moment you are either a difficult target, or an easy victim for the enemy. Most people are oblivious to the depravity of their spiritual condition. But there is a God who cares about the spiritual health of His people, and so He laments:

Prayer warriors, arise! Prepare for war. Your spiritual armor is ready for your deployment. But, to successfully wage spiritual warfare, you need knowledge on how to arm all areas of spiritual vulnerabilities in your life. As a child of the Most High God, your rights have been secured, and sealed through the blood of Jesus shed on the cross of Calvary. However, with rights come responsibility; you either learn how to fight or fall prey to the enemy. The enemy is serious, be reminded:

The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. (Exodus 15:9 AMP)

As Christians, we have been enlisted into God’s army. In case you don’t know, let me remind you that God has been mobilizing His army and that army is on the move, and marching forward with, or without you. God has issued a call to His people can you hear the call? Listen to what He says in Joel:

Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. (Joel 3:9-10)

Chapter One

The Spiritual Realm Dovetails Into The Physical

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. (Hosea 4:6)

Why are we being destroyed? Why?

Why are Christians not reaping the many blessings promised in the Bible? Why

Why have many Christians not been able to harness the power and authority delegated to them in the Bible? Why?

Why have the churches produced weak soldiers incapable of fighting the devil? Why?

The answers to all these questions are spiritual. There is fierce spiritual battle going on right now in your life, which started a long time ago. Who are these spiritual combatants?

Our Spiritual Warfare is Real and Apocalyptic

From Revelations we read:

There was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels. And prevailed not; neither was their place found anymore in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night…. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of earth and the sea! For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he have but a short time. (Revelation 12:7-12)

For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (super-natural) sphere. (Ephesians 6:12 AMP)

Are You An Available Target Or A Weapon?

There are people who don’t believe, doubt or don’t take seriously the existence of the devil in this nuclear age and technological wonder. Anybody who doubts or denies the existence of the devil and his hard work against him, and his family falls prey to the devil. He rejoices at your ignorance to wage an effective spiritual warfare. Any sin or doorway opened in your life is an invitation for trouble. There is a saying that when it comes to Satan, the Christian who is casual becomes a casualty. As a Christian, you are either an available target or an available weapon. Which would you rather be? We are at war and you cannot afford to be neutral.

The Spiritual Realm vs. The Physical World

The realm of the spirit is more powerful and permanent than the physical world. My friends, before something happens in the physical its origin and influence can almost invariably be traced to the spiritual, whether
