PREFACE

In writing this book I will undoubtedly draw the ire of Moor, Mason, and the profane, but I must write the truth as I see it. There are many in the Moorish community that do not believe early 1900’s religious leader and founder of the Moorish Science Temple of America Noble Drew Ali was a Freemason. I believe they are sadly mistaken. There are Masons that believe Freemasonry began in our community only with Prince Hall, and accuse all other Masonic jurisdictions of being fraudulent. To these misinformed brothers I say it was not to long ago when European Masons shunned and ostracized Prince Hall as illegitimate. Now it seems Prince Hall Masons are perpetrating the same behavior upon the Asiatic and Moor Mason community at large. This is a sad picture indeed. Freemasonry at its core represents the universality and brotherhood of men, no matter the race, creed or religion. Freemasonry of the aboriginal people of this earth existed long before Prince Hall even manifested. Masonic unity would serve as a great weapon against the true enemies of Freemasonry. It’s my contention as well as many other Moors/Muurs, that sacred Muur/Moor science predates it’s younger brother European and American Freemasonry. I will attempt to elucidate this theory by tracing what I believe to be the most remote antiquity of sacred Muur/Moor science, from the ancient sunken civilization of Mu (Lemuria) to the Garden of Eden, where prophet Enoch refined and propagated the sacred science. This science was preserved in the pillars associated with Noah’s flood (more in chapter II). This Muur/ Moor science tradition was passed down from Enoch to Methuselah to Lamech to Noah to Ham to Cush, Mizraim, Phut, and Canaan. Cush and Canaan authored what was to become the Muur/Moor rite. Phut originated what would later be called the Memphis rite of Freemasonry and Mizraim (the Hebrew name for Egypt] initiated what would later be called the Mizraim rite of Freemasonry. It is interesting to note Mizraim is pronounced Musur in Babylonian [remove the middle s and you have Muur]. As widely believed Egypt inherited their sciences from (Atlantis, Mu, Lemuria). Even though the geographical origin of the Memphis rite is thought to be Libya the nexus of the two rites [Memphis & Mizraim] is ancient Egypt. These rites have become like fraternal twins; of course all three rites are interrelated and interconnected with each other. The ancient primitive rite of Memphis Mizraim and even symbolic craft Masonry has its genesis in sacred Muur/Moor science. The Bible states the progeny of Cush, Mizraim, Phut, and Canaan manifested in many nations upon the earth. It is historical fact that the nomadic Muurs/Moors populated Europe, Asia, Africa, India, the Americas, Mexico, the Pacific and all the Caribbean Islands. The Muurs/Moors brought a brand of science, culture and enlightenment not seen before or since.

There are many English and Latin spellings for the names that represent Muur/Moor: Maurus, Moro, Mouro, Moore, More, Maurice, Moreau, Moretto, Marduk, Mooroe, Marrak, Mouillian, Merinad, Marabout, Murid, Morabite, Mor, Mormon, Mohr, Morian, Moren, Maroon, Merah, Murabit, Maur, Moreno and many others, but as far as this book is concerned I will use the term Muur/Moor when most appropriate so as not to mislead the reader. But I personally prefer the [Muur} way of spelling because it represents the universality of the Muur national identity. Most people believe the Moors only came from northwest Africa. But there are Muurs in India, Arabia, the Americas, Mexico, Ireland (Celtic), Europe, Australia, the Solomon Islands, and Mauritius etc. Breaking the Muur national identity down by letters: [m] represents matriarchal. Most Muurs believe that God is a woman. I believe the God element is the feminine aspect of ones higher self right brain function or intuitive side of ones nature, as a matriarchal governess. The [u] stands for universe in its totality (Macrocosm & Microcosm); the second [u] represents under as in the pledge of allegiance one nation [under] God, the [r] stands for Ra-Muh, Ra-Mah, Ra-Mu, Ra-Meh the Egyptian and Mu God of the sun. Muur simply means in an esoteric sense the original spiritually intuitive state of Man/Woman.

According to Mark Amaru Pinkham in his book [The return of the Serpents of Wisdom] the souls of the Lemurians have continued to reincarnate upon those lands which are remaining vestiges of Mu or once adjoined the Pan-Pacific Continent i.e., the Pacific Islands, China, India, and the west coasts of North and South America. In these areas they have produced Lemurian cultures based upon right brained spirituality and art and a dedication to living in harmony with the Mother earth.

CHAPTER I THE MU (LEMURIA) THEORY

There are many stories or legends pertaining to lost or sunken civilizations. The one most written about Atlantis is allegedly located beneath the Atlantic Ocean. The other sunken civilization not publicized, as fervently, is the lost continent of Mu/Lemuria.

Some scholars believe Lemuria lies beneath the Indian Ocean and Mu existed beneath the Pacific Ocean. I believe just as the Americas North, South, and Central was in antiquity one land mass, so was ancient Mu/Lemuria. The Lemur is a small primitive form of primate found in Africa, Madagascar, India, and Malay Archipelago. In appearance the Lemur is much like the modern monkey or ape, but they can grow up to 6ft. in height when on their hind legs. Charles Darwin’s contemporary Alfred Russel Wallace estimates the Lemur also occupied from West Africa to Burma, to South China and Celebes.

In the book The History of Creation by Ernest Hackel in regards to Mu/Lemuria’s location and the human race, he writes the primeval home of man was a continent now sunk below the surface of the Indian Ocean, which extended along the south of Asia, as it is at present [and probably in direct connection with it], towards the east as far India and the Sunda Islands, west as far as Madagascar and the southeastern shores of Africa. W. Scott-Elliot in his book Story of Atlantis and the Lost Lemuria states Lemuria at the time of its greatest expansion nearly girdled the globe, extending as it then did from the site of the present Cape Verde Islands a few miles from the coast of Sierra Leone, in a south easterly direction through Africa, Australia, the Society Islands, and all the intervening seas to a point but a few miles distant from a great island continent which spread over the remainder of the Pacific Ocean, and included Cape Horn and parts of Patagonia. W. Scott-Elliot was a Theosophist and he said he received his knowledge from astral clairvoyance". It’s my belief that the ancient Mu/Lemurians were of modern day (Muur stock). Just as scholars pigeonhole the Muur/Moor Empire to Spain and parts of North Africa they also pigeon holed the geography of Mu/Lemuria. At its height the Muur/Moor Empire encompassed the entire earth. In the next segment of this chapter I will go into the various ancient artifacts illustrating our illustrious national headdress Fez (Tarbush, Henin) in the very same locations aforementioned concerning the Mu/Lemuria locale.

IN HOMAGE OF THE FEZ

The Fez, the national headdress of the Muurs/Moors since remote antiquity; has been hailed as an object of respect and honor. Symbolically and at times literally the person wearing the Fez should possess high knowledge and power. In Turkey and other parts of the Mediterranean the Fez is known as a Tarbush, in ancient Canaan (Phoenicia) the conical Fez is known as the Henin. This type of Fez was also used by the ancient order of Magi. In modern day cinema magicians and wizards are seen wearing the conical Fez. In the old elementary school days if you acted up you were told to sit in the corner and a dunce hat was placed atop your head, this dunce hat was the Fez and it was used to reform the child’s mind and bring it back to knowledge, wisdom, and a certain maturity. The Fez worn by modern Muurs/Moors are red in color and geometrically symbolizes the Great Pyramid of Giza. The Fez is also worn by 32nd degree Freemasons in the house of the shrine. According to Hakim’s H.Y. Bey’s Paradigm Vol. I #7 as quoted from Africa and the Discovery of America Vol. III BY Leo Weiner The conical hat [Fez], representing royalty or high dignity in Mexico, among the Huastecans, and elsewhere, and in Aztec known as copilli, is linguistically identical with the [hat]words in Africa derived from Arabic gifarah, gufarah. The Arabic conical hat [Fez], [qub], and [gifarah], associated with the Magi, is at the base of all the [hat] names in the Sudan, and apparently was originally restricted to the kingly power. The priestly power, with which the conical hat was originally associated received for it’s insignia the Arabic [mitraqah], the rattle [maracas], which through a homonym which the Arabic means [gourd] and [religious wisdom], was made from a gourd

The Assyrian Kings of Mesopotamia as well as the Easter Island mois statues are depicted with Fezzes adorned with an attachment in the middle. The Assyrian Kings wore various forms of the Fez small, medium, and large in height all have an attachment in the middle with tassel straps attached to the bottom of the back of the Fez. The modern day Fez come in many sizes also, and has an attachment in the center top where the tassel is connected. The high priests of Assyria wore the conical Fez during their rituals. The scribe pictured in the Olmec World by Ignacio Bernal plate 28 is wearing a high Fez with ancient sacred symbols inscribed on the front along with the same inscriptions on his chest, plate 79 the statue from Huamelulpan is pictured wearing a conical Fez making a sign with both arms squared to his chest. In Fair Gods and Stone Faces: by Constance Irwin page 151 fig. 50 is a Hittite deity fresco with a high priest adorned with a conical Fez. The Mediterranean (Assyrian) Mesoamerican (Olmec) connection is depicted in the Assyrian Fez and the Fez the shamans or religious magician (witchdoctor) wore in Mesoamerica (Mexico), fig. 20 of the book Olmec World page 134 Tlatilco figurine: shaman. In the book Fair Gods and Stone faces" page 136 situated behind an African Olmec statue is a bearded nobleman wearing a high Fez.

The Fez in the American pantheon simply becomes the graduation cap geometrically speaking. The Fez of the Easter Island mois has been described as a pukao topped with a conical knob. This headdress is made of red volcanic material found in a small crater on the side of a larger volcano, known as Punapau, they are classified as large cylinders from four to eight feet in height and nine feet across, this headgear has been interpreted in various ways: basket, crown, hat, turban, diadem of flours, according to Catherine and Michael Orliac’s Easter Island Mystery of the Stone Giants. David Hatcher Childress in his book Lost Cities of Ancient Lemuria and the Pacific states "At one end of a clubhouse of Santa Maria in the Bank Islands there are ancient stone figures which in one respect at least, resemble the colossal statues in one variety of the representatives of the human figure found throughout Melanesia, and is almost certainly connected with the importance of head-coverings in the ritual of the ancient secret societies. It
