To the Light of Tomorrow: From the Corners of Nowhere
Descrizione
Joslyn Dann never imagined these things would be happening to her. She always thought that it was someone else's problem or something she couldn't control. Now she was in the midst of it and there really was nothing she could do about it. Would she ever escape this modern day slavery? How could some person enforce so much torture on another human being? All she could do was cry out to God in hope that He would answer.
Captured into prostitution, Joslyn Dann has a choice to make. Will she give into the wishes of her captors or will she continue to fight their torture methods? Before her captivity she firmly believed and trusted in the love and power of Jesus Christ, but the trials of her new life threaten to destroy her faith. Will she be able to stand against the repeated attacks of the Devil?
Can someone rescue her before the fight is gone?

Letter to the Readers
Dear Readers,
Thank you so much for taking time to read my book. I would just like to take a few minutes to clarify some things about this story. In no means is the book true or even based on a true story; however there are many true stories about forced prostitution. Human trafficking is a real life problem, and I want this book to be a message to everyone that we need to step up and help. Human trafficking is defined as the recruitment, transportation, harboring, provision, or obtaining of a person for labor or services, through the use of force, fraud or coercion, for the purposes of subjecting that person to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage or slavery. In the back of the book, I have included resources about human trafficking and forced prostitution. I ask that, as you finish this story, you would take a few minutes to look through these extra items. You will be greatly surprised at how real this problem is in our world and our own country today. These issues are close to my heart. I have not been personally touched or known anyone who was affected by this topic, but I can imagine what it would be like to be forced into prostitution. In fact, the story you are about to read came from a reoccurring nightmare I had for several months. So please step back and look at what you can do to help prevent modern day slavery. Slavery is NOT dead in any way, shape, or form.
Serving HIM first,
M. D. Rothfuss
Chapter 1
This life rarely goes as we plan, but often times things work out for the best. As I look back on my past, I often block out the worst parts; but truthfully I would never be where I am today without them. It has been 3 years since I met my husband, but it was a long journey before we actually knew each other. We have been happily married for a year and a half, and we are expecting our first child together. Yet, I really ought to tell you the story that precedes our life today. It all started on July 4, 1999, and I was sitting at the local diner I worked at on my break…
Hey Joslyn what ya sitting down for? Get your butt back to work ya lazy girl,
my boss squealed out in her high-pitched southern drawl.
Shut your mouth, Estelle! I’m on my break.
I shouted back in my own North Dakotan snooty accent.
Veronica came and sat across from me. We talked about different things from how annoying Estelle was to what we were going to do after we graduated from high school in May. It was just after 9 pm, and we were to close in less than half an hour. There was no one at the diner except Estelle; her husband Mikey, the cook; Veronica; a man in a corner booth; and myself. Estelle had slipped into the back on the excuse of helping clean up the kitchen, but we both
