About this ebook

Spiritual poetry

ON MAKING LOVE: Spiritual Testimony to the Gift Life Is., is the eighth book in Jim Young's MY SPIRITUAL AWARENESS SERIES. This book of spiritual inference, expressed in the form of poetic verse, depicts some of the many ways of seeing life through spiritual eyes. For those on a spiritual venture who wish to plunge the depths to deeper meaning, this devout collection can awaken you to the inherent awareness of the perfection of Being you really are. Indeed, these verses can be revered as contemplative nourishment, the proverbial Word that speaks to the reader within, at the seat of Truth for each. Read and listen carefully for the resonance you will surely hear-and take this resonance as sure evidence that you, too, are a divine, spiritual being.

Truth is found within ourselves, it takes no rise

From outward things, whate’er you may believe.

There is an inmost centre in us all

Where truth abides in fullness; and around

Wall upon wall, the gross flesh hems it in,

The perfect clear perception—which is truth.

A baffling and perverting carnal mesh

Binds it, and makes all error: and to KNOW

Rather consists in opening out a way

Whence the imprisoned splendour may escape

Than in effecting entry for a light

    Supposed to be without.

    Acknowledgments

I hereby acknowledge, with deep gratitude, the creation

spirit that quickens my soul in the awareness of the

Truth of my Being. As well, the discipline of surrender

to its expression that propels such renderings into the

Universe for whatever divine purpose they might serve.

My thanks, too, for the beautiful country of Mexico

and the loving nature of its people, especially the innocence of the young girl who graces the cover with her

    message of Truth.

Also, I am ever-grateful to family and friends, as well

as readers of other works to have come through my

heart, for their abiding support and loving ways. May

loyalty to the Truth of your Being be your trust, always.

    Introduction

I’d like to introduce this body of spiritual imagery first

in the form of a brief story, one which describes how I

sometimes find myself answering the mostly superficial

query, And what do you do? (for a living, implied). I

often answer with the simple truth: "I make love all

day." Permit me to explain. Please!

Several years ago I was visiting Santa Fe NM to

house-sit for some friends, and I found myself involved

in a breakfast meeting a photographer friend of mine

had invited me to participate in. During a break in the

meeting one of the participants asked me if I was planning to attend the reading of one translator’s rendering

of Rumi’s poetry the next evening. I allowed that I

hadn’t seen that he was going to perform, but would

love to attend, because I often feasted on Rumi’s heart

renderings. Oh, said she, "it’s all sold out, but I think I

can find you a few tickets if you really want to attend.

I’m on the board that’s sponsoring the event, so just let

me know and I’ll see what I can do." I quickly

approached a friend and he immediately affirmed his

like desire. I then called a couple from nearby Jemez

Springs and asked if they would like to join us. The man

of the house excitedly responded in the affirmative, but

his wife sadly declined, as she had another engagement

    and could not.

To make a very long story short, the three of us

attended this marvelous event, and enjoyed it thoroughly. The author read his translations while a drummer, cellist, and dancer accompanied him in

breathtaking fashion. It was a real love-in from my

    point of view. And
