    I am the mother and single parent of two wonderful young adults, my son is 27 years old and my daughter is 26 years old and I can’t forget my little fur baby Willow a 4 year old schweaten. I began writing this book in 2004, while working as a PSW (personal support worker) with a young autistic lady who would become my teacher in ways only God knew I would need to face the next season of my life. In 2006, after 3 brain surgeries and 5 months in the hospital was now referred to as an ABI (acquired brain injury) survivor and diagnosed with Arnold Chiari Malformation 1. Little did I know that I would be using my own poems written in 2004 as well as the lessons I had learned from my young teacher as inspiration for my own recovery and therapy to not give up the fight. I have always had a passion for writing poetry and short stories. I also like to create my own patterns in knitting, crochet and sewing.

      This book marks the beginning of a new season in my life. Sometimes, things happen in life and your plans don’t exactly turn out the way you thought they would, or even expected. All you can do is learn from those experiences and move on. Regardless of what you go through, it doesn’t matter the magnitude of your hardship, if you trust God, He will absolutely restore what the locust has stolen. If you are willing to hand over everything to Him, your losses, your pain, your bitterness, even your winning moments along life’s travel, He will change the bad experiences for good ones, He will make the good ones better. He will give you double for your trouble.

      The following poem is only a brief description of the way my Heavenly Father has changed my heart and my life. I woke up at 3:15 a.m. on August 24, 2004, and because I have given Him the remnants of my shattered life, He has given me new Heart Whispers to talk about. For this reason I am eternally grateful, and I say, thank you Daddy.

      Beautiful

      You made me want to be beautiful,

      When You made my joy bountiful.

      You gave me beautiful new wings,

      By turning my mourning into dancing.

      You gave me a new heart song,

      When You gave me a place to belong.

      You pulled me in like gravity,

      And changed my whole reality.

      You gave me a life story redefined,

      When Your grace and mercy, I did find.

      You make me reach my mountain summit,

      By making my troubles plummet.

      Gone is the devil’s distracting commotion,

      As You fill my heart with new meditation.
