Red Notice: A True Story of High Finance, Murder and One Man's Fight for Justice by Bill Browder | Book Summary | Readtrepreneur
(Disclaimer: This is NOT the original book, but an unofficial summary.)
An unpunished brutal murder took place to cover a huge conspiracy, Bill Browder will embark on a quest for justice in honor to his late friend. Sergei Magnitsky was a young lawyer who went in too deep when he discovered a conspiracy to steal $230 million paid to the state by one of the most successful hedge funds. Unfortunately, the Russian authorities involved knew he was going to be a hindrance. Without leaving any trial or room for investigation, Sergei was murdered. The Russian felons thought that was the end of the story but Bill Browder, the hedge fund manager who employed Magnitsky wouldn't let it slide and his drive to do whatever is necessary to uncover the truth will be the starting point of an intense quest for justice. Red Notice is a crude representation of a harsh political reality. With an incredible narrative to give life to this true story, it'll be a miracle if you are able to put the book down before you finish it. What will happen to Bill Browder? Will he be able to fulfill his objective? How will the Russian authorities react?

"The less people know about how sausages and laws are made, the better they sleep at night." – Bill Browder
Uncovering a real story and leaving the dirty deeds out in the open is what makes this book so interesting. An unabridged view on how the political world works. With bribery and corruption lurking around at every corner, how will our protagonist handle the events and seek justice for his lost friend? Bill Browder gives us a book with a style similar to Grisham but combined with a darker and more manipulative story where you will never know what to expect on the next page.
P.S. Red Notice is an extremely entertaining book that is ideal when you want to expand your political knowledge while simultaneously immerse yourself in an exciting adventure.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Even though many of us have lived during the period of this book, it's amazing how little we really know about the world we live in. A real eye opener.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was published a few years ago but the issues are completely relevant to where the USA and Russia stand in July 2018. If you want to have any understanding of current events, and what Putin and the Russian Federation are after (relief from US and other countries' sanctions), please read this book. If it were fiction, it would still be a great read. The fact that it's non-fiction makes it tragic. It's partly a story about a pure American capitalist getting rich after the USSR fell, and partly about government-sponsored theft and murder and how messed up a more open Russia is under the leadership of an autocrat.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The book read like a spy novel but as they always say: you can't make this stuff up! I found the story of a young broker just starting in his career at the beginning of the breakup of the Soviet Union and their idea to privatize the resources in the country.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Found this book fascinating. And as the old saying goes, truth is stranger than fiction. The more I read, the more I realized what I didn’t know about Putin and Russia today.
