About this ebook

THE BROWN BAGIN BLUES

Based on a true story

A day in the life of a homeless man named Davey.

Come take a walk along side an old long in the toothed man who chooses to live the life of a nomad. Davey is a very complicated man. He holds many skeletons in his closet that he will take with him to his grave.Getting Davey to converse with you about stupid nonsensical meaningless topics is easy as he is one who can never stop rambling. It is actually very difficult to get him to shut his yap. But getting through to the core of the man and knowing his most personal and dark secrets is where he draws the line. Davey does not allow anyone to know what is truly going on in his mind. He constantly uses dark humor to try and mask the pain that must be going on inside of his soul.

What made Davey become a bum? Everyone who observes him has their own take as to how and why Davey became what he now, is which is a homeless street transient. Most people feel as if it is all his fault and he deserves to be in the gutter with the rats and worms. He is trash to them and does not even deserve to be breathing the same air. There are few though who still treat Davey as a human being and are kind and respectful towards him as they see him going about through the streets on a daily basis drunk, stinky, and filthy dirty. Without self respect that he clearly shows by the way he holds his head down low toward the ground as he waddles around like a lame duck with no purpose in life through the streets.

A brief look into the back story of how the title "THE BROWN BAGIN BLUES" came about. It is funny how in life sometimes things just seem to eventually work out. If it was meant to be I believe that It will eventually happen as long as you have patients and let the natural progression of life run its frustratingly grueling course.

CAN YOU SPARE ANY COIN?

God bless sir, can you spare any coin for an old man?

Hello mam hot out huh? Think you can spare a few coins for an old man?

Hey kid nice shirt, think you can spare a few coins for an old man?

This goes on for 30 minutes before Davey even gets his first person to acknowledge that he is even in their presence. The people in this area are used to pan handlers as there are literally hundreds of them within this downtown area.

There used to be a community of homeless people who lived in tents all along the river which was miles away from the downtown area. They were out of sight and out of mind. And this was the way that everyone wanted to keep it.

They stayed to themselves pretty much and many of them had lived there for years. They didn’t bother anyone and were their own tight knit community who looked out for one another.

For years these people had lived along the river, camping out in tents. Many of them were suffering from mental illnesses such as PTSD and a variety of anti – social related disorders. There were also those who just didn’t want to be on the grid. They like the life of a nomad and prefer to be on the side lines of this superficial materialistic world.

Well everything was going just fine for these people up until a few years ago. A huge housing boom had taken over this small to medium sized city with full intentions of turning it into an over populated traffic nightmare.

The powers that be decided to follow the templates of huge cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco in order to drive more revenue into the city.

So out of town builders finally had their dreams come true and got the thumbs up to start putting up very fru fru type custom homes all along the river for miles and miles.

There had always been a bike trail along the entire river that bikers and joggers have used for years.

There were incidents with the homeless from time to time, but for the most part everyone seemed to just mind their own business.

Well as one can imagine that with the new million dollar homes being built along the river, this started attracting a different class of people to this city.

Many of these people are seriously into their biking. You know the types that wear the court jester outfits and travel in packs.

The types that never wave at any other biker passing in the opposite direction unless they too are in a florescent colored court jester outfit with a number on the front and back of their shirt.

Well these people have now taken
