      I am passionate about sharing this book with you, not only because my relationship with God has drastically changed my life, but because I believe it can change yours, too. I’ve been a Christian for the better part of my life, and in those years I have experienced and witnessed great exploits of God.

      However, somewhere along my journey, I began to feel frustrated and confused. If my God is full of possibilities and He can do all things, why does my life not reflect this great God? If He spoke into existence the planet on which we live, why do I feel as if I’m living beneath my God-given privileges and potential? If I’m called to be like Him, why am I so limited? How can I get over those limitations? I understand my finite nature, but I struggle to understand it when I think of the infinite God who lives inside me.

      In my quest for answers, this book was birthed. I discovered that God’s purpose for sending Jesus Christ to die for our sins was to bring us back to an unhindered relationship with Him by removing the limitations in our minds. Now that we’re born again and forgiven of the very sin that separated us from God, we can be more like Him. I realized that to be like Him we must change our human ways of thinking and develop our minds to think like God. When we start doing this, we will be a force to reckon with in this world. I want the world to know God through us. I want us to be the ones the world comes to when they need to find the mind of God.

      I pray that the principles of this book will dramatically change your life as they have mine. I pray that you will no longer think like man but instead think like God.

      chapter one

      The Possibilities of the Mind

      The mind of man is an enigma and remains a part of God’s most intriguing and fascinating creation. The Psalmist penned it this way: I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

      Of all the wonderful functions of the human body, such as its ability to reproduce and repair itself, the human mind is most mesmerizing. It is what separates us from the animal kingdom. Although we can teach our pets to do great tricks that make us smile, and although we have seen wild animals outsmart our attempts to keep them out of our homes and garbage, none of that compares to what God did with the mind of man! Its ability to make informed decisions and invent incredible machines is unexplainable. It is vast and full of great possibilities. I’m not sure we will ever come to know its full capability.

      It is recorded in the book of Daniel that, in the future, many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased (Daniel 12:4). Living in this technological age is proof of that. Every day we hear of new innovative ideas and inventions. Everything around us is constantly being improved and changed. A laptop purchased today is replaced tomorrow with a more efficient one. Yesterday’s cellphone is no longer sufficient. Medical breakthroughs have caused diseases that once plagued mankind to no longer be problematic.

      It’s hard sometimes to keep up with all the changes. All these great wonders and advances have come from the mind of man. If we can use our confidence in man’s ability to put an airplane in the sky, it should be nothing for us to trust and believe in the One who created that man.

      The increase of knowledge, however, doesn’t seem to have improved man’s relationship with his God. As a matter of fact, it seems to be creating distance between God and man. Man may be thinking that if he can do all these things by himself, he doesn’t need God. If a doctor can restore the eyes of the blind, or cause a man to walk again, who needs a miracle?

      However, man must realize where his wisdom and knowledge comes from. Proverbs 2:6 tells us that it is the Lord who gives wisdom, and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. It is clear then that God is the source of wisdom and knowledge. God didn’t impart all this wisdom so we can establish a distance from Him, but rather for the wellness and provision of mankind’s diverse needs. God wouldn’t give us something that would be used against Him.

      Romans 1:30 states that there will be backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things… It is obvious that men have used this blessed gift that God gave for his betterment and in turn chose to invent things to bring about his own destruction. Nuclear warheads, fighter jets, and guns are all examples of the destructive use of our great minds. We are exposed to news reports of predators who use great inventions, created for the benefit of society, to lure, manipulate, and rob the unsuspecting. The mind of man can be a dangerous or beautiful thing.

      We must not forget, however, that man, as powerful as his mind may be and
