Jayanth
hmm??
In your style, can you tell me a non-veg joke?
Viji… You are a High Tech Micro controller engineer and I’m an atomic research scholar. And now, we are waiting in the Queue for our Visa interviews at US Embassy. Hope you are aware of all these. I am in a high voltage tension and your request is really absurd at this point of time.
I feel tensed too. And my ask is to overcome that
He looked around and noticed that there were people in the queue in the front and the back.
Is it ok if, I can write it in a paper
That should be ok
Jayanth picked up a paper & pen and started writing something and passed it to Viji. Viji read it in seconds and suddenly blurted out with a loud laugh. The next second, everyone in the queue turned to Viji to find out who was laughing. Jayanth stared at her and she paused for a moment.
Sorry Jayanth…
and Viji continued giggling with her hands closing her mouth. Their wait was around 2 hours and they had completed all the formalities except the interviews. After couple of minutes, they entered into the main hall where the interviews happen. Soon, they were standing in the queue for the final interview. There were separate queues for people who needed translation from other Indian language to English and vice versa. The queue in which they stood was interviewed by a lady.
It was their turn and they pushed their files into the minimal space of the counter. The counter was separated with a thick glass door that was transparent. There was a small mic on the either side, so that the interviewer and the other person can hear clearly.
Jayanth and Vijayalakshmi Jayanth..right?
Yes Madam
Your case will be handled by one of our senior officers. You need to take the elevator and go to the second floor. Once you land in second floor, take a right, you will find the room of Officer ‘Edward John’. I will pass on the message that you are on the way. Please take your files
Thank you Madam
Viji and Jayanth were guided by a helper inside the embassy to the elevator. They entered the elevator and Viji was already exhausted.
Too much of process. It is almost close to two and a half hours and we are not done yet. I am feeling hungry Jayanth...
Just when Viji was about to complete, the elevator stopped in the second floor. They could breathe a cold fresh air unlike the hall from where they came. As instructed, they took a right and there was a room with a name board Edward John
. Jayanth knocked the door and a voice responded instantaneously.
Come in please
Jayanth pushed the door and Edward was seen in his formal dress, with a blazer covering his shirt.
Please get yourself seated
and both occupied the seats opposite to Edward’s.
Your documents have been verified. I just have a few formal queries. How long are you married?
Three months
Is that a love marriage?
Yes… But with acceptance from both of our families
Jayanth... What is your qualification?
B.Sc. Bio Chemistry and M.Phil. Atomic Research
Where is your job in US and what is the job title?
Joining as a Research scholar in ‘Chamoleom Inc.’, Chicago
