    Introduction

    Chapter 1

    ––––––––

Your mom has lived a full life and it's now time to discover her journey. I've suggested there are 365 questions you need to ask her but really you could probably ask a question a day for the rest of your life and still not learn all there is to know about this beautiful woman.

The purpose of this book is a way for you to grow, mend or heal your relationship with your mom along with learning her story. She may have seemed perfect to you or maybe she had a few flaws or maybe she was far from perfect but getting to know her can help you see her in a whole new light.

This book is so anyone can have the conversation with their mom about her life—learn who she was, who she is, what she has seen along the way, her hopes and dreams, her frustrations, her struggles, what had real meaning for her, what did she want most for you... It really is an in depth set of questions that will help you to document her story. To be honest though, I have geared this book towards getting that information from those Moms who are in their 70's, 80's, 90's, 100's... but it will work for capturing your mom's journey, no matter her age.

When I first started my career, I worked with seniors. I absolutely loved my job and I learned a lot. The biggest thing I discovered? We all want to know we matter—that we're seen, heard, understood and feel loved. Unfortunately, I discovered not too many seniors felt this way. I found that very sad. My goal is to change that, we should all feel that we are connected and be happy with our lives. My hope is you will really get to know your mom and to help her to have some connected, fulfilled days, weeks, months, years, before she leaves this world. But more than that, so you both can grow old and be at peace.

When we reach old age, we should be happy, healthy, loving life, know we made a positive difference, know we matter and to feel connected. If possible let's do that for our moms. I know not all relationships can be healed so if you can't heal your relationship with your mother, for whatever reason, then heal it from your perspective. Our relationships with our moms affect our lives in ways we can't often
