About this ebook

This is a sequel to Ken Osterman's Sports and Horse Racing Betting Systems That Work!. As with Ken's first book, there are methods for handicapping both horse races and sports. In this book, he has an angle for handicapping each of the popular breeds of horse racing: thoroughbred, quarter horse and harness.

With sports betting, he provides a profitable method for NHL hockey that focuses on road teams who are the underdogs, going off in the middle odds range. His other method involves a fascinating angle on college basketball. In fact, this method does not involve handicapping teams at all. Your are handicapping the betting public, so you don't need to be an expert to use this system. There are plenty of examples that allow you to follow this method in step-by-step fashion.

Here is the list of systems included in this book.

    Introduction

This is a follow up, or a sequel if you will, to my book Sports and Horse Racing Betting Systems That Work!. This book was very popular, and my publisher has asked to write another one. I have a few new horse racing angles, and for sports betting, I have added a couple of new sports. In my first book I had good betting angles for both Major League Baseball and NFL football. In this book, I cover professional hockey and NCAA men's basketball. I think you'll find the methods in this book to be both exciting and profitable.

    Section 1

    ––––––––

    The Quarter Horse

    Speed Index Method

    ––––––––

There isn't a lot of quarter horse racing in the race books of Nevada, at least not as much as thoroughbred and harness racing, but there is enough that I get an itch to make a wager. I spent some time working on this system and have found it to be profitable. It is not an angle that produces any high payouts, but it does have a high win percentage, so I'm cashing a lot of tickets.

The speed index number in quarter horse racing, if you're not familiar with it, is a speed rating for a horse's race. It is based upon the actual speed that the horse ran and is not related to the winning horse's time. Reading from left to right, it is located to the right of the odds of the horse's last race, but before the listing of the first three finishers of the race. What you are looking for is the two speed indexes of the horse's last two races. Make a note or mark the horse's highest speed index of its last two races. Your contender is the horse with the highest number and any other horses within two points.

From this list of horses, throw out any horse going up in class from its last race. Also, throw out any horses that are three years of age running against older. If there is more than one horse left, the wager is on the horse with the highest odds. The wager is to place.

    ––––––––

Here are the complete rules. First, you need to select only those races where this angle can be used.

No two year old, maiden or hook races (races around a turn)

Only races carded for 220 to 440 yards

Use the horse's best of last two speed indexes from 220 to 440 yards.

Discard any race listed at a distance shorter or longer than this.

If both races are outside of this range, eliminate the horse from contention.

    Select horse with the highest
