About this ebook

The Mabola Plum is a delicacy to many herbivores and baboons are always hungry. They are also terrified of certain animals and reptiles. Stories originate from the old people who pass on anecdotes and history to the younger generations and this particular tale came from a Matabele in the south of Zimbabwe.

I am an un-acclaimed author who has not yet made it big! Born and raised in the Southern African wilderness, on a remote dairy farm, I grew up like any other ordinary farm boy. The seasons changed regularly, animals were born and died, crops planted and harvested. I had little interest in these, preferring to explore the intricacies of life. I needed to create something unique and different and far preferred my own company. I abhorred social activities and instead, developed an interest in computers. This opened a gateway into the virtual and developing world which became my greatest entertainment. At the age of 16 I discovered the expressive power of literature, granting me the ability to convert imaginative new worlds through words rather than illustration. It has taken time to translate image sequences through the pen (or rather, the keyboard!) I think I was successful, after many painful re-writes! Although we cannot exist in a fantasy world, I can definitely take you there! I became an avid gamer and movie enthusiast, both of which led me into Fantasy and Science Fiction genre, my retreat and sanctuary. These combinations paved the way to expand my creative abilities, artistic talents and computing skills which stimulated my mind for thousands of hours, and continue to do so today. My closest companion, Inky, a large, indolent black cat, has intimate knowledge of time spent in solitude and has shared many frustrations encountered on this journey. My patient family await fruition of my dreams as I continue to follow the complicated paths lurking in my mind. One day these will lead to something – I will know it when I get there.
