She previously worked as a teacher, and is now one of the best-known authors in the world thanks to her famous book series about the adventures of Harry Potter. Now a multi-millionaire, she is also known for her humanitarian activities, particularly in the fight against child abuse.
She has written a number of other books linked to the world of Harry Potter, the profits from which have been donated to charity. In addition to the Harry Potter series and related books, she is also the author of the novel The Casual Vacancy (2012) and the Cormoran Strike series, published under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.
