    INTRODUCTION

Time is a luxury that most of us cannot afford. There is so very much to do, and so very little time. The fast pace of technology nonetheless, we have become busier in our work and business pursuit; and when we have too much to handle, cooking is the one of the first things that we simply let go. After all, there are alternatives such as eating out and ordering deliveries. We ignore the fact that instant foods, with their preservatives and artificial ingredients, are not healthy for regular consumption. Besides, cooking at home creates a certain bond that microwaving instant foods cannot provide. So here you see that we are also robbed of the joy of cooking delicious and healthy meals for our family.

But, thanks to the Crockpot, you can now put together a healthy meal for your family while you sleep, play or work! Isn’t it amazing? You can calmly take your time to prepare a healthy meal with fresh, whole-food ingredients from your local supermarket or backyard that you and your family will love.

    The Crockpot

Crockpot (also known as slow cooker) is a great time saving kitchen appliance due to its function of maintaining a relatively very low temperature for extending the cooking duration. It is a convenient method of cooking all kinds of foods. It provides you with you proper nutrition, natural flavor, and of course, a stress-free cooking experience. The preparation mainly involves putting all your ingredients in the Crockpot and cooking together for several hours. Since a crock-pot uses low cooking temperatures, it can be left unattended to and generally will not overcook if the food cooks a little longer than the suggested cooking time. Additionally, it takes minimal effort to cook in a crock-pot and your food will turn out fresh, hot and appealing!

The basic crock pot consists of an oval pot made of ceramic or porcelain, a heating element made of metal and the lid, made of glass. It was introduced for slow cooking in 1971.Over the years its use has continued to expand, with many manufacturers introducing stylish designs and recent innovations to make slow cooking an easier and more convenient task.

These include multiple settings, digital displays as well as dual dials to set both heat level and cooking time. Others are programmable timers to lower heat to warm once the cooking time is over; divided crocks for preparing more than one kind of food at a time and cookers with multiple crock sizes to enhance versatility and save storage space.

    Basics of Crockpot Cooking

Slow-cooking beautifully extracts all the flavors in beef, pork, lamb and chicken, making them more delicious. Your Crockpot can also be used for making less oily food as it does not require oil for cooking the food. You can also cook meat in it without adding any fat to it as the Crockpot does not let the fat drain away just like it get drained away while frying in other appliances.

You can cook your breakfast in the night and your dinner in the morning. Sounds weird, right? But this can be achieved by putting all the ingredients in the crock pot for overnight cooking and in the morning the breakfast gets ready to be served. Isn’t this an easy way to reduce the burden of cooking in the morning? You can make chocolate brownies, bacon, eggs, oatmeal and casserole and a whole lot more.

Do the same with dinner; put all the ingredients in the Crockpot in the morning and it will get done by the time
