Michael Tavon

Michael Tavon (1991) was born St. Petersburg, Florida to Michael & Desiree Patterson. Although Tavon and two sisters grew up in low income-crime driven neighborhoods his parents instilled the importance of goals, education, and the 'will-to-do-good' in their children. As a child he developed a likeness for literature and television. His first book,"Garage Band The Legend of Dookie Harris", was self-published in 2014. Tavon is currently pursuing his Bachelors degree in Creative writing and will be attending the University of Central Florida in 2018.

    Nirvana - Michael Tavon

    My Favorite Story

    You’re the book

    I’d never put down

    As I turn each page

    A piece of you becomes

    Embedded in my brain

    So I’d never forget

    You’re the character

    I root for

    Fall in love with

    Shed tears over

    As you tell stories of

    Troubled memories

    and moments of triumph.

    You’re the story

    My heart gets heavy for

As I watch your character develop

    Into the phenomenal woman

    We know you are.

By the end of each chapter

    Leave me craving for more

    Make me wonder what’s next

    Give me pleasant plot twists

    and awkward humor

    Be the beautiful cover

    and the unforgettable story

    I would never put down

    Power of Doubt

    You wanting me

as much as I want you

    Makes me kind of nervous

Like, am I actually worth it

    do I deserve it

    Before you,

    I felt worse than worthless

Now you have defined my purpose

Deeper than the core of the earth is

    Now let me revert

    retract and go back

    Am I clouded by lust

    Because this feeling so new

So new I can't even trust

So, I stress by second guessing

    Wondering if you're another lesson

    Or a blessing

But why ruin this beautiful moment

    By asking questions

    Just go with the flow

If It was meant be we'll know

    Heart-Shaped Box

    Entrapped inside your

    Heart-shaped box

    For lonely years

    You’ve left me here

To survive off hope and tears

I know your return is unlikely

    Unlike me,

    You have a gift

Of hurting others with a smile

    Luring your victims

Into the traps of your eyes

    I enjoy this place

    Although it’s often cold

    It has pockets of warmth

    In your Heart-Shaped Box

    I’ll forever be stored

    Waiting for you

    to love me more

    Than August loves to storm

    A Connection

    Passion is when

    I’m inside your warmth

    Intertwining my energy with yours

    sucking the breath

    From between your lips

    Amid the dark heat

    Your sweat on mine

    My hand lightly

    Gripping your neck

    Your moan

Becomes the music of the moment

    As I am the motion

    Your thighs, around my waist

My stare gazing into your soul

    As we whisper sweet nothings

    I thank you for

Giving me your most intimate parts

    Prototype II

    You're the prototype

    Thank God you exist

    The first woman

    To make me feel small

    But in a way that

    Drives me to match your

    Passion for life

    Most would be intimidated

    By you

    But you inspire me

    I want to grow in
