    4.5 - So simple and clean - it's perfection.

When Yarn is introduced to his home, Cat befriends the fuzzy ball, and the two become good friends. Then the feline's human girl takes Yarn and turns him into something scratchy and less-than-friendly, and things take a downturn in their friendship. Suddenly Yarn (in the form of a sweater) is something that Cat wants to get rid of... until, that is, he realizes how cold he is without his new outer layer. The text of author/illustrator Jacob Grant's Cat Knit is extremely simple, but also quite humorous. I enjoyed some of the wordplay and puns, from the title itself, to the moral message that "Warming up to something new takes time." That said, what really stood out here were the drolly amusing illustrations, which perfectly capture Cat's various states of disgruntlement. As a cat-lover I found myself giggling sympathetically on more than one occasion. Recommended to all young feline friends, and to anyone looking for simple but amusing stories for the younger picture-book set.

A must read for cat-loving, knitting librarians! ( which there are no short supply of)
Funny depiction of a bored (then happy) cat, his fun new friend, yarn, and the inevitable: a cat sweater! After he is adorned with a newly knit sweater, cat is forced to re-kindle the fascination he had experienced before with yarn. Trouble is, they no longer seem to reconnect, until he finds himself outside in the cold snow!

Yarn is such a great friend!...until it turns on you. Treachery!
