Introduction.
I love cooking...
It has been my lifelong passion to enjoy preparing, eating and sharing delicious, healthy meals. With my background in food science and nutrition, I am aware, as I know you are too, that healthy food choices can help protect us from illness, increase our vitality, and build happier, healthy lives.
It is my goal to plan and prepare recipes that use plenty of fruits and vegetables, quality proteins and carbohydrates, less processed food, and less salt and sugar in our daily diets.
It seems to me that our daily meals should be as nutritious and tasty as we can make them. When all is said and done, eating well is one of life’s pleasures. And sharing meals that are seasoned with love is a wonderful mutual blessing!
I believe in economical recipes that waste nothing. Finding quick, simple and creative ways to make things that are healthy and that really taste good is what these recipes are about! I use ingredients that you can usually find in your cupboards, freezer and refrigerator.
For the most part, I try to use the fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry and fish that are produced in my country and sold locally. My recipes that are inspired by many different cuisines reflect the wonderful diversity of my country! Some recipes have been passed down from beloved grandmothers, mothers, and family friends, all of whom were consistently good cooks. Many recipes are my own creation, and I am indebted to the friends, family, colleagues and neighbours whose hearty enjoyment has endorsed my recipes as truly good-tasting!
Some of these recipes are ideal for a family, others, like the soups are perfect for those who are cooking for one. Some recipes are for company and others are for celebrations.
It is my hope that these easy recipes inspire home cooks just like you, to discover your own inner creative cook. Just imagine what that could do for you and those you love!
The recipes found in Live to Eat and Share benefits many kinds of cooks:
Novice home cooks: students, children, seniors all of whom are anxious to learn.
Seasoned cooks: those who have tried everything and are still looking for something new.
