- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5AMAZING! Great story line, stands on its own boot or sneaker clad feet, and the heat factor is moi caliente (Psst... ADULT READERS ONLY!)! Violet is a gal with passion, drive, and such a big heart... oh and shrinking she is not. Hogan is all man with looks to kill, brains to spare, and a heart of gold... his past may be less than stunning but it doesn't put an ounce of damper on his brilliance. Nathan may be a man of the law, but he knows what his heart wants and he's not afraid of the pursuit. Brooklin may be wary for VERY good reasons, but her true character, and her selflessness can't be stifled. Then there's Colt, Jason, Honor, Lexie....shall I continue, or would you like to discover this title on your own? 😉
*copy received for review via BookSparks #PopUpBookTour - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Overall, I thought this was a good book. The way that the author intertwined the two couples stories into one book was nice. Although, I felt that Hogan and Violet's story was more of the focal point. The first couple of interactions between Nathan and Brooklin did not even capture my attention as much. Unlike where Hogan and Violet were involved. I connected with them as a couple quickly. Plus, when it came to the ladies, Violet was more outspoken. Yet, not that Brooklin couldn't have been more outspoken if she wanted to. Yet, it was not in the cards for her due to her situation. This is where Nathan came in. He was a good protector of Brooklin. Still, I had a good time reading each of the couples stories. Love does conquer all.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Hogan Guthrie has been hurt. His wife cheated on him several times, stole his son's college fund & then died. He rebelled by dating a lot of women & then realized what he was putting his done through. He begins to have feelings for Violet but she keeps resisting him. Her feeling nags are serious & she doesn't want to be just another one night stand for him. Plus he works for her at her diner smoking the best ribs & she doesn't want him to leave. Will he ever admit his feelings for her are strong & trust her not to hurt him? Nathan is the sheriff & an ex-SWAT member. He's interested in the woman next door but realizes she's acting scared of something. That feeling intensifies as he cons his way into her life. She's too tense & aware of her surroundings. Nathan knows his feelings have gone beyond just like. Can he get Brooklyn to admit hers? Will she tell him what's going on before danger finds her? I loved this book! The primary focus is Hogan & Violet & his struggle to trust her & move forward in his life. His seventeen year old son adds extra dimension & another point of view to the story. It really showed that cheating & deception affect the entire family, not just the husband & wife. In the relationship between Nathan & Brooklyn, Nathan had to sit back & wait for her to come to him. He was secure but she had to decide to trust him with her life & trust him not to let her down. I enjoyed that the entire group lives close to each other & operates as a family instead of just a close group of friends. Love this series!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/52.5 Stars - I was really looking forward to this book. I totally enjoyed the first and I loved the potential the other characters had for their own stories.
What worked for me:
• 2 for 1 romance - Loved the side romance between Nathan and Brooklin. I actually liked it more than the leads.
• In the beginning both couples have witty banter and good chemistry.
• Loved Colt and his parts in this book.
• Happy to see that some of the chemistry was back near the end of the book.
What didn't work for me:
• As soon as the lead couple had sex, the tension and chemistry seemed to get lost and they focused too much on worrying that perhaps their relationship was only just sex.
• Both men seemed a bit too overprotective, to the point that it makes the heroine seem like he thinks her an invalid.
• From about just over halfway till pretty much the last chapter, it was mostly sex scenes, or what seemed to be scenes put in place just to lead up to sex. Just lost interest and skimmed them.
I see there are a bunch of rave reviews for this book, so perhaps I am alone in my thoughts. For me, it was missing the tenderness and fluttery “romance" feels that I look for. That said, I am glad I finished the book, and honestly, if Colt gets his own story, I would like to read it.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Most of the time, romance books focus on one couple but in Worth the Wait the story follows the relationship of two couples. Hogan Gunthrie, Violet Shaw and Nathan Hawley, Brooklin Sweet are two couples with very different starts. When considering this book for a review, I was curious to see how this story would flow with two different romance storylines. I was delighted that both storylines were unique but that the stories were also woven together with the result being a lighthearted romantic read. The majority of the story surrounds Hogan and Violet and their delicate dance of romance. From the way the story unfurls, it is apparent that there must have been mention of these two characters in the first book of this series. Hogan was apparently quite the playboy but lately he has singled his focus to be on only Violet. Violet has the hots for Hogan but felt that she did not have the time for the drama that a romance with him would bring, but boy, did she want him. When Violet becomes ill, Hogan saw an opportunity to get past the prickly exterior that Violet wears and it started a friendship that quickly develops into a possible “friends with benefits” situation. Hogan was burned by his ex-wife and he is not willing to give anyone the chance to hurt him or his son again. Not sure what she wants exactly, Violet is willing to dance to Hogan’s tune, for now. As things heat up both these characters have to come to terms with what they really want and what they are willing to sacrifice to see how far this road will lead.Nathan is a former SWAT member who is no stranger to trauma. When Brooklin sneaks into town he is not put off by her standoffish attitude. If anything, it makes him more intrigued and gives him the desire to find out what is behind the shield she puts around herself. Brooklin is running from her past. She has been hurt and wants to keep her past securely behind her. Too bad her pesky neighbor, Nathan, will not leave her alone. She should be annoyed by how he pries into her personal life but there is something about him that heats her up. When Brooklin’s past finds its way to this small town, it affects both couples and the outcome is way more than anyone ever bargained for.Worth the Wait is told from multiple points of view and I enjoyed that. It is always nice to know what is going on inside the heads of characters. It also helped the flow of the story as the couple’s stories are separate but intertwine during certain scenes. I did feel slightly lost from not having read the previous book in this series. There was history between many of these characters that I eventually understood but would have enjoyed knowing at the start. Overall it was an enjoyable read that has plenty of steamy and swoony moments as well as humor, mystery and a wee bit of danger. This is a sweet read that I would recommend to all romance readers. This review is based on a complimentary book I received from NetGalley. It is an honest and voluntary review. The complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.
