    Lisa has recognized that most people know how to lose weight, but still find themselves struggling to achieve a healthy lifestyle. Unhealthy body image and mental mind games can contribute to one developing bad habits that undermine lifestyle changes. Her own personal experiences with these issues prompted her to write this book.

    Introduction

    Was there ever a time in your life you were physically active on a consistent basis, ate a well balanced clean diet, felt an overall sense of well being?

    At one point in my life that was me (actually two years ago that was me). I injured my ankle and it prevented me from working out. I went into a deep depression and started on a 7 month junk food binge. After gaining a lot of weight I tried to get back to where I was before I hurt my ankle.

    This time around, I put myself under a lot of pressure to return to my previous weight, so I was working out harder than I did before. I became frustrated with the fact that I was working out so diligently and so hard, but could not get back to my previous weight. I eventually gave up and gave into bad habits that have helped to create the body I have now.

    I realized that I only had one element of the fitness formula. Although I exercised regularly, I didn’t eat properly or drink enough water to sustain my physical activity. I kept late hours and I had gotten into the bad habit of functioning on very little sleep. So I have decided this time around I am going to do things better.

    Now that I have been inactive for months, the thought of starting over and getting back to working out on a regular basis has me hesitant to get started. Honestly, I don’t want to have to work that hard.

    Along with my hesitation to exercise, there is another set of factors I have to deal with. Emotionally, I have been struggling with bouts of insecurity and doubts about whether I can get motivated to make changes in my health as well as in my life.

    Mentally, I have all these responsibilities and worries that are taking space in my brain. This, in turn,
