Reviews for Marco's Cinco de Mayo

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book for primary readers explains the Mexican holiday in very basic terms. It includes a glossary (words like “celebrate” “instrument” and “tortilla”) with a pronunciation guide and some references to learn more. The cartoon-inspired illustrations are as basic as the text. While the Mexican characters have a tan color, otherwise everybody pretty much looks alike. While clearly this is for very young children, it would have been nice to have a bilingual aspect to it, or even more clearly identifiable aspects of Mexican culture.
