INTRODUCTION
This is the third book in the series titled, The Word of God Library.
God is leading His servant to have a few commentaries published that have been done over the years of various books of God’s word, the Bible. These commentaries are intended to be devotional, heartwarming, and as practical as possible, to help believers live out their faith in these last days of the present age. There are also three sections to the Addendum dealing with the four ages of time; the two separate comings from Heaven to earth in time of God’s Son, The Lord Jesus Christ; and also how one may have a personal relationship with God, if there are any readers who do not already have this vital relationship. It is highly recommended that one start with the Addendum before one sets out to read the book.
What should also be mentioned before closing this Introduction is that after completing 21 years of formal education and then spending almost 28 years working in Project Engineering and Management in the Corporate offices of a large utility, God called His servant as a non-denominational evangelist in early 1999, and then sent him out a few thousand miles, away from family and friends, to the place of service God assigned, which is where His servant has been and is still serving Him as evangelist, counselor, author, editor, and publisher. The author is a widower with three adopted children, all now married with a family of their own.

JUDE 1:1-25
Jude 1:1,2 – Who the writer is, who this letter is intended for, and a brief salutation
As we begin our look at this letter from God titled Jude,
which God gave to believers through a man named Jude,
we note first of all what is written at verse 1:1, Jude, a bond-servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ....
And here we see the believer who wrote down this letter from God is identified as Jude,
and also identified as being a brother of James.
The obvious first question here is: Who is this man whose name is Jude
? And the second question is: To which James
mentioned in Scripture is this Jude a brother to? This name Jude
is the Greek word Loudas,
which appears 44 times in 42 verses in the New Testament, rendered eleven times as Judah,
thirty-two times as Judas,
and once as Jude,
which is here in this letter. We further note that the word James
is the Greek word Lakobos,
which appears 42 times in 38 verses in the New Testament, appearing all 42 times as James.
For those who may not be aware, the New Testament was given by God in the Greek language (and the Old Testament in Hebrew), which is why when searching a word in the New Testament, we need to do so in the original Greek.
If we look at the various James
encountered in the New Testament, we see first of all the mention of James, son of Zebedee, and John his brother,
who were two of the early disciples of The Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 4:21), and who were later chosen by Him as part of the Twelve (Matthew 10:2). The second James
mentioned is James the son of Alphaeus,
who was also chosen as one of the Twelve by The Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 10:3). The third James
encountered in the one mentioned at Matthew 13:55, where we read, Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers, James (Greek
Lakobos) and Joseph and Simon and Judas (Greek
Loudas)?
We note here that this James
had a brother named Judas
and he was a half-brother of The Lord Jesus Christ (same mother, but different biological father, since The Lord Jesus Christ was supernaturally conceived in the womb of the virgin, Mary, by God The Father, while each of the half-brothers would have been fathered by Joseph, the husband of Mary (noting Matthew 1:20 with Hebrew 10:5). Then a fourth James
mentioned is at Matthew 27:56, where we read (adding v.55 for context), [55] Many women were there looking on from a distance, who had followed Jesus from Galilee while ministering to Him. [56] Among them was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James (Greek
Lakobos) and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
The fifth James
found in the New Testament is Judas the son of James
(Luke 6:16), whom we here see had a son named Judas,
who was chosen as one of the Twelve by The Lord Jesus Christ.
It is also important to note here that the first James
mentioned above is seen as being put to death with a sword at Acts 12:2. And it is also important to note that in a study of the book of James, we concluded that the author of that letter was James, the half-brother of The Lord Jesus Christ. And since only among the half-brothers of The Lord Jesus Christ do we have the mention of a James and a Judas as brothers, then we conclude here that the Jude
in view here at Jude 1:1 is indeed also a half-brother of The Lord Jesus Christ, and the brother of James,
who was his biological brother, and also an elder in the local church at Jerusalem (noting Acts 12:17; 15:13; 21:18), who was also the one through whom God gave the letter known as the book of James.
And before continuing on in the book of Jude, we note from Matthew 13:55 that The Lord Jesus Christ’s half-brothers are there listed as James and Joseph and Simon and Judas,
but at Mark 6:3 they are listed as being James and Joses and Judas and Simon.
Therefore, it is unclear whether Jude was the youngest of the brothers or the second youngest.
We then also note from Jude 1:1 that God identifies Jude as a bond-servant of Jesus Christ.
This is how every believer yet on earth should be identified by God, for a bond-servant
is one who is in willing service to God, out of love for Him! This meaning of the term bond-servant
can be grasped from what God tells us at Deuteronomy 15:12,16,17, "[12] If your kinsman, a Hebrew man or woman, is sold to you, then he shall serve you six years, but in the seventh year you shall set him free… [16] It shall come about if he says to you, 'I will not go out from you,' because he loves you
