About this ebook

In this book Dr. James B. Sampson addresses the importance of sowing good seed in
God’s good field. To do so God promises that we will literally reap an abundant harvest,
and in some cases we will reap more than we have sown. Sowing and reaping is a law
of the natural and spiritual world. Sowing and reaping is analogous to the Word of God.
All Christians are sowers and reapers. The question is, “What kind of seeds have you
been sowing lately”?

    ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I give honor to God who is the head of my life, and to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who has given me a spirit of love, power and a sound mind to write this book, Is Your Seed Yet in the Barn? And I truly thank God for His Salvation.

I thank my wonderful wife (Sheila) who I met at the age of 16. She has been a source of support and strength for nearly 40 years, and to my awesome son Rev. James J. Sampson, and my amazing daughter Jaime Nicole Sampson, to God is the Glory.

Special thanks to this amazing congregation called The First New Zion Missionary Baptist Church Family, its officers and members; thanks for allowing me the time to grow and develop into being a good pastor and a decent preacher. Without your prayers and support for nearly thirty years, none of this would have been possible.

To my late and great pastor Rev. Dr. Tony Neal, Jr., founder of both United Tabernacle Baptist and Missionary Tabernacle Baptist Church, who saw something in me that I did not see in myself. His love, loyalty and commitment to me as a young minister have been invaluable to my discipline, development and destiny.

To Rev. Dr. J. C. Green has been both a great gift and guide for me, as my elder brother in the ministry. I do thank you for truly being a spiritual brother to me for the past 36 years. Special thanks to the Rev. Dr. Brett Snowden, for his prayers, support and for such a gracious forward, as well as valuable insight. Thanks Rev. Sid Crudup for your prayers and technical assistance.

To the Florida General Baptist Convention, along with a host of others, who have contributed to the success of this ministry throughout the years, my heartfelt love and appreciation to you can never be expressed by mere words. Thank You!

    My Prayer

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for being a God of all comfort and joy. I thank you for teaching me how to be content in whatever state that I am in. So, Lord I come thanking you again for allowing me to write this book entitled, Keys to Successful Sowing: Is Your Seed Yet in the Barn? You said in your word that you take delight in the prosperity of your people, so Lord again I thank you, for reminding me that if I plant it you will grant it, if I release it you will increase it and if I sow it you will grow it. Now Lord I ask that you would bless everyone who reads this book. May it cause favor and glory to rest on their lives. And Lord I thank you in advance for replacing poverty with prosperity, sickness with health, greed with the spirit of gratitude. I claim victory over my financial crisis; in the strong name of Jesus I do pray Amen".

    Foreword

Within the walls of Christendom we often hear Galatians 6:7 recited, 7Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Although this verse is quoted often in many instances we overlook and/or misunderstand the scriptural meaning of this stewardship principle. Consequently, our seed is yet in the barn!

In this current climate of Christianity where we focus on buildings, budgets, and highly favored blessings, if we are not careful ‘church work’ will redefine the ‘work of the church’. Meaning God’s mission and ministry for His house will be left undone.

In this book Dr. James B. Sampson addresses the importance of sowing good seed in God’s good field. To do so God promises that we will literally reap an abundant harvest, and in some cases we will reap more than we have sown. Sowing and reaping is a law of the natural and spiritual world. Sowing and reaping is analogous to the Word of God. All Christians are sowers and reapers. The question is, What kind of seeds have you been sowing lately?

Dr. Sampson references Haggai 2:18-19 as the basis of his exposition which in simple terms says the impurity of our hearts and lives will make the work of our hands, and all our offerings, unclean before God. God will curse the blessings of the wicked, and make bitter the prosperity of the careless; but
