Dedication and Acknowledgements
I dedicate this work to my children Swathi Ramduth, Rakshita Mohabir, Kavish J Rambilass, Nadeesh J Rambilass and my husband, Jai Prakash Rambilass. Also to my sons-in-law Shalen Ramduth, Shanil Mohabir and my grandchildren.
I have also drawn inspiration and encouragement from other family members and friends especially from my brother, Meerithlall Roopan, over the years, through dithering and faltering times, as well as those moments of peace,
tranquillity and serenity.
I wish that my readers and more particularly the youth, will draw excitement and inspiration from this work to pen their own thoughts and speculation of life and the significance of nature.
I am grateful to the members of Dancing Pencils
, Live Poet’s Society (LIPS) and Mr Dietlev Diegel of Dancing Pencils
for their inspiration and encouragement.
I wish to also thank Ritesh Ramdeen, Rakshita Mohabir, Sindhu Bhogal, Shreya Bhogal, Basanti Singh, Sarvesh Bhogal and my son, Kavish J Rambilass, for their valued and treasured contribution in making this work a reality.
My Poetry
It is said that poetry awakens the soul. It hides in the heart until there is a need to reveal it. Then the fleeting mind is brought under control. While musing in deep thoughts, the process of the creative arts is born.
Often writers concentrate on reform and retrospection. In this collection the concentration is mainly on social ills, the beauty of nature and other personal experiences and reflections. My excitation and awakening is born out of the golden pages of life’s experiences and episodes around us. The past and the present, sweet and sour, good and bad, innocence and corruption, manipulation, lust and greed for power, addiction, knowledge, material wealth, is herein explored.
Themes are contradictory, diverse and adverse like selfishness and selflessness, sun and the moon, ebb and flow, rough and smooth, the murderer and the saviour. Writing poetry needs a peaceful, placid and relaxed environment, free of the hustle and bustle of duties, labour, sweat and toil and general chores. Dive into the depths of poetry and you will find pearls of life ready to be harvested.
