With all the instability in the world, having a bug out bag is one of the necessities of life these days. We can’t always control the things happening around us, but we can control how prepared we are when those things do happen.
Creating a bug out bag can feel overwhelming at first, but it doesn’t need to be. Bug out bags are simple and straightforward as long as you know where to get started and what needs to be in your bag. That’s where we come in. We’ll help you figure out the most important things to go in your bag and how to get everything organized in your bag.
We’ll talk about why it’s important to have a bug out bag and then we’ll discuss in order of importance what needs to be in your bag, so you can decide what items are best for you and which you can decide to leave out.
If we take the time and the resources to put together a bug out bag for ourselves and for those we love, we will be prepared for the times when we need to get out.
Chapter 1 – Why You Should Have a Bug Out Bag

Disaster survival in the movies is nothing whatsoever like real life. In movies, everything seems to fall into place at the right time, there’s always someone who can build a fire, there are plenty of freshly cut bushes to built the perfect shelter, and suddenly, all of the characters
in the movie are trained hunters, eliminating any concern for healthy food sources. In real life, however, a movie star isn’t going to show up on the scene and miraculously save you and your family.
It’s completely on you and your survival depends upon whether or not you’re trained and have a good understanding of what you need to have with you to survive in the event that tragedy hits.
We’ve talked a little already about the circumstances wherein you may need to have a bug out bag - disaster, invasion, or some other catastrophic event, but let’s talk a little more in depth about the actual importance of putting together a bug out bag in preparation for the eventual collapse of society.
