About this ebook

The fact that you are contemplating this book tells me that you are an intelligent individual looking to better yourself, yet looking for some support along the way and an idea on where to start and how you should progress on this journey. How often have you admired a successful person and thought to yourself I wish I was like that? There are very few people that could honestly say that they never wished they were someone else or could at least live within someone else’s shoes just for a week. Whilst this book will not see you trying on the shoes of a big celebrity it will show you that you are just as clever and with the right training there is no reason why you cannot be just as successful in your own way.
This book looks at many topics that relate to or are compulsory elements of intelligence including the following:

How to understand intelligence
Be smarter and increase your IQ
Skills and meditation to improve the brain
The Brain Evolution System
Enhance your brain with everyday functions and objects
Beverages to boost the brain
Emotional intelligence
Pathway to a better brain
Successful people are more than just smart

There are two types of cognition; the first is referred to as normal cognition which is the ability to retrieve knowledge from memory. The second type of cognition is known as metacognition and this is having the capacity to know whether you know something or not.

There must have been a time in your life where you have been asked a question that you know the answer to yet you cannot recall, this is sometimes referred to as the answer being on the tip of your tongue, and if someone were to give you an answer you would immediately know whether it was wrong or right. The easiest way to understand this is to think of cognition as knowing and metacognition knowing whether you know or not. Both can exist together but more often than not they don’t.

In what way does this affect intelligence?

Bearing in mind what we understand about cognition, how important is it and how does this affect the way in which we can improve ourselves? As there are two separate types of cognitive ability it stands to reason that there are different types of intelligence.

During the time spent learning your intelligence is gauged by your cognitive capabilities. This is great for some as they have no trouble producing all they know when tested, however for those who do not fare as well because
