      About Bricks on the Head Doing NIE Numbers

      One chilly morning back in late 2010, in the old Foreigners’ Office in Torrevieja, right next to the famous ‘Windmill Square’, and after queuing up with my two clients (one of them in shorts, wow!) for over one hour outside (from around 7:45 am to 9:00 am) and after waiting for our turn inside the office (which took another good hour ish), the policeman told us that we were in the wrong office.

      Yes, sir, in the wrong office after freezing and waiting for nothing.

      What happened?

      The dad and son I was helping out lived in San Miguel de Salinas, a town around 10 miles away, and that area is part of the Orihuela National Police station district when it comes to foreigners’ documentation; not Torrevieja.
