Introduction
From childhood, human beings are constantly pushing the envelope, exploring new options in the hopes of becoming independent. As we hit the teen years, the desire for independence blossoms and begins to take shape in the form of educational, career goals. The desire to be self sustaining doesn’t leave us after we’ve found the right home, the right mate, the right career – it continues on and there are people throughout the world whose desire is to become completely self sustaining.
There are groups who have called themselves Preppers,
individuals and families who are preparing for the worst – whether it be a zombie apocalypse or complete breakdown of governmental systems, and these people have blazed a trail in the quest for self-sustaining lifestyles and within this book, we’re going to take a look at some tips and tricks that will hopefully lead to a more self-sustaining lifestyle. Whether it be called homesteading, prepping or extreme independence, the goal is still the same – the same as we experience throughout life, to be less dependent upon others and to blaze our own
