I didn’t always struggle with my weight. And it’s not because I was particularly athletic or active. Some people call it naturally thin. It looked to others as if I maintained my weight effortlessly. I didn’t exercise. I typically ate what I wanted without thought to calories, carbs, or fat grams. In fact, the idea of adjusting my food intake to drop a few pounds was not something that ever crossed my mind. I managed to stay slender throughout my entire youth and young adulthood. And though a few pounds were added to the scale after college (thanks to too many late-night pizza and beer sessions), I still weighed well within the normal range when I started my first professional job.

It was so easy for me — and it required such little work — that I foolishly believed I’d be thin forever.

But God often has a way of reminding us that pride goes before the fall.

Because I got older. And then I got married.

Like many newlyweds, my husband and I enjoyed many large meals together. We often went out to dinner and enjoyed meals that were loaded with calories. (Restaurant portion sizes are a scourge on this world. Just sayin’.) And I

    I've been doing intermittent fasting for a long time now, and this is one of the best basic books on fasting that I've read. She gives you many different ways a person can start fasting, and gives you tips on how to control your hunger. Very good info for a beginner all around.
