About this ebook
Twenty-year-old CC hasn’t had an easy life. CC isn’t even her real name and she’s on the run from an evil husband, hoping he won’t find her in New York. So, when she sees him right there on the busy street, she has only one ought. RUN!!!
In attempt to hide out in a nearby building, CC tries to pass herself as a model in a fashion show that’s happening on one of the floors. But, when she steps out on the stage, she realizes her mistake. It’s not a fashion show, it’s some kind of auction and she’s up for bid!
Boyd Stanley despite his success in business and his billionaire status, hasn’t had much luck in the romance department. His last girlfriend, his fiance, cheated on him, making him hesitant to date again. But, the stresses of the job, coupled with loniless, made him agree to check out a new kind of dating service, where potential candidates are auditioned before a select group of wealthy men, and then the men bid on the young woman, for the right to start dating her first.
It all seemed like a good idea during the sales pitch, but now that he’s been witnessing what’s really going on, he’s more disgusted than interested in the women they’ve brought onto the stage. It’s like being at a strip club, each candidate trying to out-sexy the last one. And the more he sees how the men in the room are treating the young women, like they are chattel, the more he wants to walk away… even if it means forfeiting the agregious non-refundable fee.
He’s about to get up and walk and chalk the whole experience to yet another reason he should give up on love, when SHE stumbles onto the stage, and suddenly he’s glued to his seat.
She’s different than the others. Vulnerable. Frightened.
Boyd Stanley knows what he must do.
He must win the bidding, no matter the cost, because the idea that any of the terrible men in the room might lay a hand on her beautiful skin isn’t going to happen.
One word fills his mind as he raises his bidding card.
MINE!

13 ratings1 review
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This book started off really interesting . But soon it was one ridiculous scene after the other. It was impossible to care about the characters. The plot was too intricate to be squished into a novella therefore, the characters were severely underdeveloped and highly unbelievable.

About the Author
CHAPTER ONE
Lost in pleasant daydreams, CC stared off into the middle distance, blissfully unaware that her life was about to get thrown into a hurricane of shit
As usual, she’d caught the early bus, to make sure she got to work on time. Things were finally going well. She had a job, a decent place to live and food in her stomach. Breathing deeply, she drifted back into her favorite daydream and indulged in her favorite fantasy of how she might someday live a normal life and be truly happy. There was nothing to stop her from such a dream anymore. She had a new name and a new identity. Cynthia Crawford, or CC for short. She was still young and pretty. She could do or become anything. No one in this giant metropolis knew who she was, or the kind of life she’d led, or the mistake of a man she’d married. She was living in the greatest city on earth, on the other side of the country from where she’d grown up and fallen into his clutches. CC felt safe in the crowded melting pot. She was a needle in the haystack – just another dark-skinned woman amongst hundreds of thousands. He would never find her here.
CC hummed a little as her fantasizing went into overdrive. Following her favorite script, it started with a handsome and devoted husband who adored her and worked hard to provide for her. Then there were countless scenes of domestic bliss all centered on their lovely home, which was usually a modest two-story home in the suburbs, complete with a white picket fence and a garden of beautiful flowers. There were children, of course —lots and lots of children. And there were home-cooked meals every night, and her lovely happy family would be together at every meal, holding hands as they thanked the Lord for all their blessings. CC imagined a home filled with love and laughter. She pictured her children growing up strong and happy. She saw them excelling in school and never getting hooked on drugs. Her children would never have to watch their mommy getting dragged away by CPS, as she kicked and screamed and blamed the drugs on her seven-year-old daughter. Her children would never have to come home from school and find out that their father had up and left, washing his hands of them forever.
No, her life would be good. Blissful, happy, and perfect.
CC was so caught up in her happy daydream that, at first, she didn’t recognize the subconscious signals trying to warn her of impending danger. Her body suddenly went cold as if someone had poured ice water down her spine. Something was terribly wrong.
Hyper alert, CC tried to calm her quickening breath as adrenaline pumped into her veins. There was nothing inside the bus that seemed out of place, so she looked out her window into the busy New York street, scanning for signs of a threat. The bus had stopped at a red light, so she focused on the crowd of pedestrians stepping away from the corner to enter the crosswalk. A large man didn’t move with the others. He wore a well-cut business suit and looked at first glance like any other professional New Yorker. Only this man’s head turned to follow her bus as the light changed, and it lurched through the intersection. The hair on the back of CC’s arm rose like a demon getting a day pass out of Hell, and she gasped. Jerome had found her.
The light changed and the bus was on the move. CC’s heart raced, her eyes fixed on Jerome as he walked rapidly towards the line of people waiting to board. She fought back an urge to start screaming. She needed to keep her wits about her; she needed to anticipate his next move. In just a few seconds, he’d be on the bus, and then what? Would he kill her right there in front of everyone? Or just drag her off and kill her somewhere else? When she’d been under his thumb, how many times had he promised to make her suffer if she ever tried to get away?
The automated voice called out the name of the stop, air-breaks hissed, and the bus came to a stop.
Oh shit, oh shit!
Every fiber of her being wanted to panic, to run, to freak out, to scream bloody murder. But she had to stay calm, to think, to
