ONLY HALFWAY THERE: Scriptural Evidence for the Legitimacy of Women in Leadership within the Church
()
About this ebook
Kick off those shackles and rip off that religious duct tape that’s been trying to silence and limit you. You have a voice and you can use it! You have giftings and talents and we need them in the Body of Christ!
For years, many evangelical churches and whole societies have been perpetuating a lie about women’s roles and their place in the church. While arguing that men and women are created equally and have equal value, they dismiss and aggressively teach against equality in function. They isolate a few scripture verses, interpret them outside of the cultural context in which they were written, and fail to look at the whole breadth of scripture to determine God’s true heart toward women.
This book will equip you like never before to understand and even defend the legitimacy of women in leadership within the church. Difficult concepts and scriptural passages are broken down in a very detailed way to allow for easy understanding of deep theological truths. If you are a woman called to leadership this book is meant to be a much needed tool in your arsenal of spiritual weaponry.

Introduction (Please don’t skip!)
Recently I was commissioned by Apostle Barbara Wentroble and International Breakthrough Ministries into a new level of apostolic teaching. Many of you know I love to teach and have been doing so, inside and outside of the church, for over two decades now. In 2004, I began The Truth, A Teaching and Healing Ministry, which generally just goes by the name The Truth Ministry. I have traveled on over 20 different international missions to about seven or eight different countries and have spent most of those trips teaching the truth of God and applying it in tangible, relevant ways. Apostolic teaching
can mean a lot of things, but to me it just means teaching that builds, liberates and edifies! It releases people to be all God created them to be. It releases them to go further than I could ever go. It cheers them on and says I believe in you, but better yet, look- God believes in you!
We are at a critical hour in history and the church needs all of its members fully equipped and fully aware of their identity in Christ. This means that long standing lies based on the traditions of men that limit women in their ability to serve and lead need to be dismantled. While it is not all that difficult to dismantle the lies, it is extremely difficult to dismantle the strongholds and cultural norms of the church that have erected themselves around these lies. I invite you to follow along and to please pray for me. Clearly, I am not the only one sounding this alarm. I do, however, feel an obligation to join my voice with the others and to do my best to bring forth the truth. I understand that there will always be those who disagree. I am not concerned about that. What I am concerned about is those that are caught in the oppression and are being held back from their God given destiny in life! It is for them that I take on this battle.
Important Note From The Author
This book is being created from a long series of shorter messages that build one upon the other. While it was originally posted on my ministry website in several parts, I have now updated it and published it here in a traditional book format. I want to take you through a thorough examination of the Scriptures and explain them in a relevant and understandable way that you can take hold of. This takes time, so please hang in there. My goal in writing is to keep everything interesting and eliminate anything that isn’t adding toward understanding and clarity.
When originally posting these on my ministry website, I decided to title this series Scriptural Basis for the Legitimacy of Women in Leadership Within the Church
, because I believe that it is exactly the legitimacy that is being challenged. In the dictionary, legitimacy is defined as, allowed according to rules or laws, real, accepted, official
.
While there are so many churches out there limiting the role of women in leadership positions within the church (and even sometimes outside of the church), I believe there is ample Biblical evidence to prove that this practice is harmful and is wrong. In other words, while I certainly believe that men and women are different in many ways and their genders are distinct and preserved, I see no Biblical support for limiting the functional roles of women because of their gender.
I would argue that in many places worldwide, and in many churches here in my home land of the United States of America, there is an illegitimate hierarchical, gender-based structure in place that has been and continues to limit women from functioning in their full God
