Abstract
The Behavior of reptiles had been previously considered to be very stereotypical and instinctual. Only in the recent years, scientists have started to explore the field of reptile cognition. Recently I started studying the behavior of The Indian Roofed Turtles through practical observations. As I learned more about them, I came to know more about their learning and problem solving abilities. In the following paragraphs, I would like to present my investigation and observation about these amazing creatures.
The Indian roofed turtle (Pangshura tecta) is a species of turtle in the Geoemydidae family. It can be distinguished by the distinct Roof
at the top most part of the shell. Found in the major rivers of South Asia, it is a common pet in the Indian Subcontinent. These freshwater turtles use vision to navigate their environment.
